**** like that gets to me too mate, we all live our day to day lives, have our whole lives ahead of us and worry about **** that really don't matter. Then you get a kid like that, who has every reason to feel down but is just counting his blessings and making the most of everyday. Puts things into perspective.

I can't remember to be honest, I hope it isn't terminal, nobody should ever have to attend their childs funeral. Having any family member suffering with cancer is hard even if they survive, let alone your own child.
