That's about the only way I can imagine Mayweather not easily winning the first fight. He does love money and maybe even more than he loves being undefeeted.

If Conor wins he might continue as a boxer since it pays better. More cross over fights might happen. Boxing would lose popularity and respect and MMA would be bigger than ever. That's my guess.

Instead, Floyd's lackadaisical attitude, juvenile antics and circus training camp may ultimately result in that against-all-odds whooping that I genuinely hope does not come to pass. Because if it does, Money will have almost singlehandedly dishonored the "trade" that put him where he is.
stop trolling. what ''juvenile'' acts? you mean being a convicted rapist like Tyson?

Everything you illustrated for what Floyd ''should'' have done he has ALREADY DONE for 20 years! he and RJJ represented the USA in the Olympics and comes from the Mayweather pedigree...

trolls.. just say what you really want to say...

Arriving with a bag full of money that you throw around like garbage is not juvenile?! And that is only one of his numerous pre-fight stunts that belong more in the WWF. My point was not referring to what he has done for the past 20 years. That is obvious. The comment was related SPECIFICALLY to this fight. And how a possible loss (however distant that may be) may affect boxing as a sport. In this instance, AND THIS INSTANCE ALONE, Money has done the sport a disservice by his half-hearted training schedule and childish publicity stunts. Which would make a surprise loss all the more damaging to boxing. Hope that clears it up...

Did you watch the weigh-in? He's in great shape, no different from other fight. Dude trains like a mad man for any opponent.

It's an act, and it's so obvious to anyone with a brain.

The legacy Mayweather has created for himself is everything to him. He would not risk tarnishing that. The one thing Mayweather cares about more than money is what gave and continues to give him that money - his image as one of the best to ever lace em up and undefeated within the sport he helped shape for our era.

I don't really like the guy, but damn, pay the man some respect, he's not gonna allow himself to get blown out by a 0-0 MMA fighter in any circumstance.

Floyd is undeniably where he is because of over two decades of incredible skill and dedication. But for THIS battle (which was the subject of the Thread), he has done the sport no favors with his publicity stunts. While they are clearly supposed to be "selling the fight" it simultaneously denigrates an amazing sport. Because...instead of rising above The McGregor Circus and demonstrating the dedication and discipline that put him where he is, Floyd chose to quite possibly close a remarkable career by behaving like part of the Sideshow.

It will make ppl THINK an MMA guy won over a great boxer ...........

The reality is its two guys in a boxing ring and most of the public is fooled into believing McGregor cant BOX ...........

Well he can and can effectively ,he will also be around 20 pounds heavier ,dont be shocked should he knock Mayweather out ......this isnt a sci fi movie where aliens are invading , Floyd isnt unbeatable and hasnt fought in years which could be a HUGE factor .

What will happen IF McGregor wins ? People will think MMA is better striking ....BUT that is ****** bc MMA the sport /style isnt fighting ......ONE guy is and hes BOXING . I'll tell you now McGregor isnt utilizing all he could be in his style and he doesnt hit nearly as hard as he thinks he does , BUT hes fighting a guy UNDER 150 pounds ......

Everyone will forget this should he win ,the reality is you have two counter punchers fighting and IF McGregor actually stays with Mayweather this could be a nail biter with McGregor losing the rnds but is ONE punch away from ending it .

So what actually happens ? Well Mayweather will lose alot of credibility and McGregor will CLAIM hes revolutionised the sport of boxing .

Really at the end of the day its just two guys in a boxing ring where only one guy can win , no one has lost credibility or revolutionised anything .

What will happen is boxing will get POSSIBLY more cross over fights that REALLY will be a farce ,lets not pretend that MOST MMA guys wouldn't get there clock cleaned in a boxing ring .
