Top 3 Reasons Canelo dominates Golovkin.

Here are the 3 main reasons that Canelo is going to beat Golovkin resoundingly in September. Those of you who know boxing should know what I'm talking about.

1. Canelo has the better defense. At the highest level, the fighter who has the better defense and gets hit less wins usually, not the fighter with more power. We've seen this time and time again.

2. Canelo has vastly superior Pro experience. In the Pro ring, Canelo has already faced some of the best P4P fighters of this Generation in Mayweather, Cotto, etc. He has also had the guidance of people like Oscar Dela Hoya since he was a teen.

On the otherhand, none of GGG's MW opponents were P4P level. I am also a skeptic of Abel Sanchez's abilities. AMATEUR EXPERIENCE IS NOT THE SAME.

3. Canelo is more versatile. He can attack but can also defend, slip, and counter-punch just as well. GGG has iron fists and an iron chin, but he is only at his best when he is pushing forward and attacking. At the highest level, ONE WAY WILL NOT BE ENOUGH. GGG is not superman.

Defense, experience, and the ability to adjust is much more important than power or speed.

GGG is bigger, has better jab, better footwork, more power, granite chin.

And since he didn't manage to KO Jacobs, this time he will come with a better backup plan if he sees he can't KO canelo in the first half and will rely more on his boxing skills, which he has many.

Anyway Canelo has improved a lot in the last years and GGG is getting old. So it's a near 50/50 fight for me with a slight edge for GGG for the reasons I mentioned.

I agree with 1 & 3 & I think 1 in particular will be the clearest path to victory Canelo has as Canelo will make GGG miss like no else ever has & make him pay. I think 2 is closer. Canelo has fought the better world class guys (along with some HOFers) while GGG has more world class guys fought overall. So its not THAT much of a edge I'd argue.

And idk about dominates either. I think this fight will likely be competitive for most of the 12 rounds if not for the full 12.

Whatever happens it should be a good fun fight doe.

I think footwork and stamina will play a factor for GGG beating Canelo. Also, i hope Canelo doesn't go near those ropes. If Canelo can dictate the pace then he may win but if golovkin pushes forward all fight then i can't see Canelo winning or even surviving.

Golovkin has a great defence and when hit an even better durability and ability to come right back and throw the heavy shot he's taken a punch to land his bigger shot. Canelo wasn't able to hurt the like of Lara and Cotto, he has no chance to make GGG humble and respect him.

Canelo hasn't challenged himself for a good number of fights in the lead up, he's never fought anyone with ggg power, he needs to be mobile for 12 rounds or he's in trouble

1. It assumes Golovkin has average accuracy. Golovkin has one of the most accurate punches in boxing today.
2. Is debatable, ring experience mean nothing if he never fought the like ogf Golovkin. Canelo can only use that experience if he fought fighters like Golovkin in the past which he had not.
3. Canelo's upperbody is all he has, but it won't be anything since Golovkin is the taller and longer guy, and especially GGG knows how to not telegraph his punches while also be reaching out f range to not get counterd.

Agreed regarding the size, strength, jab, feet and durability.

I don't think ggg has to alter his game plan to suit, guys have to alter theirs to face him, he simply turns up and with his superiority in near enough every meaningful category relevant, the only guy making adjustments will be his opponent.

Let's clear something up, Canelo can not fight anything like Jacobs, he's a lot less crude than Lemieux but hasn't the power the Canadian had to make GGG honest. Canelo will be marshalled around the ring and broken down as Golovkin has routinely and systematically done throughout his career.

Anyone who has followed both Canelo and GGG know pretty much how this fight will play out, this isn't a Golovkin facing a moving target a la Jacobs nor is it a tiny little Brit with zero power whom commands zero respect and no game plan whatsoever due to the fact he ain't a threat in the least, Canelo is very much the 2-3 best opponent GGG has ever fought and he is profoundly and vastly more skilled by comparison in overall talent than Canelo is.

Me neither, truth be told I can't see how he can win, I see no dimensions to his game that can trouble Golovkin never mind beat him.
