If McGregor manages to beat Mayweather, he will earn respect, but still be subject to the same criticism that EVERY boxer deals with. No matter how great a victory is, there will always be people saying the usual things like "He was too old, too small, or past his prime". Boxing fans & media are typically not the same type of gushing fanboys that he's used to being worshiped by in the UFC.

What happens when Mcgregor gets beat down and embarrassed.

Does he become a worthless fighter who only fought bums and was never any good in the first place?

nah, nobody can make any excuses. mcgregor is not a pro boxer. if he was to beat floyd, no excuses will save the embarrassment. remember NOT a pro boxer.

Touche. You're right, but there does seem to be a large number of fools who believe Conor will win, and win easily. He's never been a pro boxer, but apparently, he's making the switch. Unfortunately, we might be stuck with him.
