Shame you can't spell his name.

Sure he did dana. Just like you sent all the sparring footage to showtime. We all know paulie whooped his ass thats why at best all you could. Find was 8 or 9 second clips of conor doing good. There was no continuous footage of them sparring. Paulie whooped up conor and now you're trying to spin it to try and sell the fight. Hopefully thell release it after floyd destroys him

Max Kellerman said that the purpose of the sparring isn't to go full tilt like fight night. It's to learn and correct problems in defense and offense. He said they ushered Paulie off the plane and had him in the ring within an hour or two and Conor went at him full force in a very non-traditional sparring sense. Everyone felt it was odd that there were cameras running from all angles and after a while, like they were trying to set Paulie up to build footage. So I just try to go off of what experts (who know much, much more than I) are saying, and not try to energize my own ego through Paulie's. That being said, as a boxing fan, I find Paulie's interpretation of what happened interesting, as he's clamoring to have this footage released. I would hope he's intelligent enough to know that pleading to have the footage released if he did lose in a sparring session would look bad for him. The worst part about all of this, is that these catty sparring sessions are distracting from the main fight. Have you ever seen so much bickering over sparring before a big fight? I can't think of any other fight lol.Originally posted by Eff Pandas View PostDana's already said he's going to release the video AFTER the fight.
Lets be reasonable. No one is releasing that much sparring footage when they have so much of a surprise element BEFORE they fight the opponent all this sparring as been for in a $100M+ fight.
Bigger things in play here than Paulie's ego.
LOL thats true.
If Conor did lose 10 of 12 rounds (or most of those 10 rounds as I believe what Paulie is saying) idk that Dana can really say it. Although I tend to feel when we do get to see the sparring it'll be more competitive then either guys take of it.

That said Paulie shoulda been smart enough to say thats too many rounds, I'm outta shape right now, I won't be able to give you good work for that many rounds. And he didn't do that. Or he shoulda just turned them down completely as thats just not how cats spar in a training camp. Even MMA guys cycle guys in to keep the main guy working harder vs fresher guys.

Ha yup, exactly! Paulie has that east coast pride, and there was no way he was going to say that's too many rounds. He should've stayed home an extra month and gotten into shape and then came in for the final few weeks of sparring. Guess we'll see what happens if/when they release the footage. After them beating it to death in the press, it's going to be so anticlimactic to watch anyway.
And that's a great analogy/comparison lol. I feel like I'm hearing more about the sparring than the two guys and how they match up who are actually fighting.
Originally posted by Eff Pandas View PostOh yea it definitely sounds like a setup. Brendon Schaub might have the best take on this that I've heard. He think Paulie went in as guys go into sparring to help "the team" he's on. And Conor invited him to camp to "f#ck him up" as he said when they hired him cuz he held a grudge against Paulie from months earlier saying "I could beat Conor with one hand tied behind my back" or something along those lines. From there I think they just put Paulie in bad positions with sparring 8 & 12 rounds which is unheard of for 1 sparring partner as guys typically want frest sparring partners to make them work harder. And from that point they lined up a camera crew & the UFC brass for full effect.

LOL right. I said this was boxing's version of the JFK assassination a few days ago & I stand by that. Sh^t is INSANE. But that just goes to show how big this fight is that all these lil details make so many headlines.
