Comments Thread For: Cleverly: Me and Badou Jack Could Be 'Real Fight' of The Night

Nathan Cleverly insists his world title defence against Badou Jack on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather versus Conor McGregor will prove the "real, real fight" amid next week's "freak event". The Welshman makes the first defence of his WBA light-heavyweight title as chief support to Mayweather-McGregor at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena on August 26, but is the 3/1 outsider with Sky Bet.

I've been ridiculed on here before for saying it but i think Cleverly takes this. Big step up for Jack in his first fight at the weight. Cleverly's work rate, hand speed and shot selection will give Jack problems. Looking forward to this fight the most on this card

Badnews Jack ain't no Kovalev so Cleverly wins the fight easy.

Cleverly comes to rumble every fight. Granted the Clev isn't a great talent but makes for exciting fights. Badnews Jack is just another average talent who needs average opponents to shine. Look for a Cleverly win off a decision. So be it.

Badou jack was looking strong as hell for his media day workout.... At 168 he didnt have the same snap on his punches.... Might be a stoppage in this one

I hope Clev got a big payday in this one. Does sound a bit off to not sign the fight again until weeks before by TMT. Poor sportsmanship if nothing else.

Clev's been in some rough fights and he's got a bit about him outside the ring so hopefully he hasn't had the mathematics degree punched out of his head.

I'm with Tony Montana. Clev looks done to me. Braehmer got an injury and Clev gutted it out like always but even in that he was getting hit very hard by a good puncher - many times. He is conditioned very well and has great stamina and a good chin but I fear for him a little bit.

100% I think Jack will stop him late. And I suppose Clev could hang around and face Buglioni, Yarde, and Burton but hopefully he has made his dough.

              He's an old 30.

Fighting a bigger man with very good skills might just be a little too much for Jack I'm going with Cleverly...

According to Jack, Cleverly was asking for too much money. So TMT cancelled the fight and Jack was supposed to fight Eleider Alvarez, but Alvarez got injured so that why the fight was signed so late.
