Despite reports to the contrary on social media from Floyd Mayweather, the Nevada State Athletic Commission will not allow his request to have the glove size changed in his pay-per-view boxing match against UFC champion Conor McGregor.

But NSCA executive director Bob Bennett said Tuesday that the commission would not bend to Mayweather's request, regardless of whether both fighters agree, because it goes against their own rules.

"These regulations are in place for the health and safety of the athletes, which is of the utmost importance to the commission," Bennett told ESPN. "Our regulations already outline the appropriate glove size according to contracted weight of a fight."

The same people that were crying about weeks for the kovalev fight loved weeks for the maidana fight....

the fight should of never been approved in the first place you got a guy who's never boxed professionally facing an elite professional boxer a guy who is the best of his generation. They sold out for the money and once they did that now they look like clowns once again breaking their own rules with the gloves just because the fight is slumping a bit and the promoters need a new angle to sell Mcgregor as having a chance to win. So lets change the gloves. Shame on NSAC.

I got no beef with these 2 guys fighting but it should never of been a sanctioned fight. They could of done like the BKB where they took real professional fighters tweaked the rules put them in a pit and sold it on PPV. But the wins those fighters got never counted on their professional boxing record. If they did that who cares if floyd is fighting a MMA dude or whatever gloves they want to use hell give them tiny MMA gloves for all I care it's a circus anyway. But now the NSAC looks like clowns and sell outs. Only in boxing

How am I confused off of that statement you made? I just stated Floyd requested the 8 because Conor was already making excuses during the Press Tour. 2 ounces isn't going to make a difference in Floyd's power and a Knockout. If a knockout happens it would have happened in either size glove regardless.

Lol they agreed to not use puncher's gloves? Why would Mcgregor "agree" to that? Just proves this fight is fixed. And Floyd even said "You can wear whatever brand you want, I want you to be comfortable," so wtf happened to that?

The fight is fixed, and Floyd is full of it. Case closed. Mcgregor probably would have been better off in 10z puncher's gloves than 8oz boxer's gloves, so how does this help #FixedFight
