Bivol will easily beat Badou Jack if they fight.

Bivol.....another hope to attach your flaccid self-esteem to.

The guy is a solid fighter....nothing more...nothing less

Hadn't heard that, so it'd be a shame if he did. If Martinez backed out, and Salido isn't already in the gym for a fight, the next best option is likely Billy Dib, tbh. Hey, JuanMa Lopez is already in camp for a fight, his fight is scheduled for about 4 weeks after Mayweather-McGregor, so maybe he can be convinced.

Otherwise, you're left with a showcase for Gervonta, a good fight in Cleverly-Jack, and another showcase fight (possibly for J'Leon Love), to go with Porter-Dulorme and a second fight on FOX. A lesser card, to be sure.

Because there is opportunity available to him now

If he can parlay to step-aside into a payday and placement onto the event (the second spot on Fox and the fourth spot on the PPV are both currently open), why wouldn't he and his camp take the deal? Lionel Thompson (BoxRec #49 at 175lbs, Bivol is #15 at 175lbs) fights under the Mayweather Promotions banner, isn't a bum, and is available.

If the notice is too short, I don't see it being much of an issue for Mayweather Promotions/Showtime to work out a deal and deliver that step-aside fight on a coming ShoBox, and still end up with the promised shot.

How does holding things up for nothing help Bivol or his camp?

          He lost handedly to Fonfara.

Not far fetched to think Jack soundly beats him.

Not sure I agree that Cleverly has beaten better fighters.

Dirrell, Groves, Bute (should have been a W), Degale (should have been a W), Medina.

Jack has a pretty solid resume.

I guess it's a decent enough fight and matchmaking for this circumstance-I kinda like the fight.

Should start off pretty quick given Clev's workrate. Jack settles in and is workmanlike and efficient. every once in a while fans will turn away from their beer to glance at the tV and see these two throwing a good amount of shots throughout.

Jack is pretty well rounded, he puts in very strong efforts and I've enjoyed watching him more and more

cleverlys resume is terrible. his only notable win is over bellew at 175 where he wasnt very good and i thought bellew won that fight anyway. jack beat dirrell, degale, groves, etc...

Yeah Jack has a great resume, he drew with Periban, drew with Degale, drew with Bute and got KTFO by Derek Edwards, your right thats pretty solid!

His only decent win is vs Groves and Groves was coming off a devastating knockout to Froch, If Groves fought Jack 12 months later he would have won. Anthony Direll is **** and i dont give him props for that win.

Cleverly put up a good fight against Fonfara considering he broke his nose early in the fight

Theres no etc here, Jack beat Dirrell and Groves thats all.

Clev fought and beat avoided/undefeated fighters earlier in his career like Murat and Mohammedi and has only ever been clearly beaten by Kovalev, he certainly hasn't been knocked out by the Derek Edwards of this world or went life and death with Periban

Anthony Dirrell is ****, and you list Murat and Mohamedi? They aren't even world class fighters.

I agree Jack definitely has holes, the Edwards loss is terrible. But he came back strong and has beaten good fighters. Bute and Degale were draws but he beat both IMO.

Jack has a better resume IMO. Cleverly's resume is not that good.

Either way though it's a good fight I don't count Cleverly out at all.
