Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Reacts To Arum's Money Claim on Lomachenko Bout

In a recent interview, Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, stated that WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (37-0, 30 KOs) is demanding "millions of dollars" for a fight with Vasyl Lomachenko (8-1, 6 KOs), who holds the WBO super featherweight title.

Arum saw Lomachenko and Mikey meeting behind his back so he had to come out and do some damage before it gets away from him.

I like how Mikey straight up exposed Arum as lying.

"Bob Arum does not even know what we're asking for, because we've never sat down to discuss that issue." Mikey Garcia

I would ask for big money
The momentum is there especially after Marriaga makes Lomachenko look like super bad after this weekend
Mikey coming off his fight with that other loser
Loma coming up in weight ,Mikey going back down
      Arum vs Garcia
I think it would be huge

If he was being carefully matched he wouldn't have faced grj and Walters already. He's been given a lot of **** for this fight and I think it's unwarranted due to the level of opposition he's faced so far. I'm pretty sure he's said they've tried to get the beltholders to fight him and they either can't or in tanks case won't.

That being said I'm a huge mikey fan and if this fight was to happen I believe he'll stop him.

I feel Arum will let the fight take place at 130 to drain Garcia. Maybe a catchweight will do.

He's an easy target and in a unique position. Is the shit warranted? Would it have been warranted, lets say 25 years ago?

How much advantage did a fighter like Tito Trinidad, or hell even Chavez Jr, get by having a record built before people would bash them for their choice of opponents?

The flipside of course is that those two were making much less for their early fights as opposed to big bucks right out of the gate.

No, the shits not warranted, but after 9 fights and being a pound for pound entrant, are they done building Lomachenko as a fighter? Are the days disappearing where a talented, hyped fighter can actually build a record in the pros?
