I'm sorry but when you look at who Crawford has faced and compared them to Porter, you will see that Porter(who is considered just a contender) is better than anyone Crawford has faced. I know we love to **** on GGG's resume but you can't sit just sit there and make it seem as if Crawford is going to beat all these guys when he has a pretty weak resume.
Porter vs anyone is a dog fight. Thats how he fights. He wants to be in your chest all night, he wants to be active.

And sure Crawford has a soft resume vs a lot of the top 147lbers, he's in a softer division, but there are still the dynamics of each fighters style & attributes. Fights aren't won or lose on resumes, they are won & lost on styles & attributes & Porter fights the same vs the 120th best guy in the world or the 2nd best guy in the world & thats just not gonna beat a guy as versatile as Crawford has shown himself to be more often then not, regardless of who Crawford has or hasn't beaten.

Yes, bit of fighter a doesn't have no bodies on his resume then I can't give him the benefit of the doubt. It's like Joshua vs Ortiz. So you really think I'm picking Ortiz when Josh has the better resume

I still standby Crawford's chin being bad or questionable which I suspect a guy like Lipinets could take advantage of despite being inferior to Crawford in most every other measurable attribute. I think more than a couple of the tip top 147lbers will or would beat him, most namely Errol Spence.
I agree, Spence beats him. That Is a super fight down the road.

In fairness I don't get why people think Ortiz is something special, but I can see why people think Crawford is.

And thats not even to say Ortiz can't be the man at HW or Crawford will be the man at WW, but I think Crawford's talent is something that will get him further than Ortiz's talent will get him in their respective futures in boxing.

I've seen enough from Crawford in his couple of meaningful fights that I've not seen in any fight Ortiz has had + while Crawford will need to have the actual W's before he gets credit for speculative W's, like we are discussing, I definitely see him capable of being a top five 147lber in his future. Idk about the #1 guy, but he's gonna beat more 147lbers then he loses to at the top ten level, Porter being one of them largely cuz Porter boxes too ineffectively to have much of a winning record vs top ten guys (believe he's 3-2 vs top ten guys) who tend to have a above average ring IQ in a high level competitive division at 147.

Ok, we'll just agree to disagree. I'm just having a hard time seeing Crawford keeping Porter off of him

Even if Crawford can't keep him off of him, Porter smothers his own best work & Crawford can eek out a close decision through the gaps Porter gives him. I think Crawford gots too many tools to use against Porter & Porter is a one lane driver on a 6 lane expressway. He's just not gonna beat the better guys.

Plus I'd add he's a guy who's gonna burn out quicker than all the rest of these 147lb guys cuz these types of fighters in your face all night almost always start quieting down around 30, 31, 32 years old & being done at the elite level so in another 12-18 months when this fight might legit be happening (I suspect we see Indongo in a couple weeks, Horn or maybe a Jessie Vargas-if he figures out his TR issues, or some other TR affiliated or unaffiliated with a big promoter 147lber in Dec/Jan 2018 & then Manny or Horn around spring/early summer, thus Crawford vs a non-TR PBC type guy isn't happening for a year best case imo) Porter might not even be at 70% of the guy we saw give Thurman & Brook competitive fights.

So we ain't seeing this anytime soon so fair enough on agreeing to disagree. Bump this thread in the summer of 2018 someone & one of us might be on the way to being proven right or wrong.

It would be interrsting how Crawfprd would react to a guy like Porter. I would actually favor Porter against Crawford since stylistically it favpors the charging slugger and porter cuts off the ring well. I had porter beating thurman also.
