It's a mandatory. Luke Campbell is an Olympic gold medal winner and solid fighter. Only surprise is it's happening in la. Could've made some real money fighting in the uk again.

This is strange, I was thinking maybe Goldenboy have a proper reason not to fight in the UK : like issues with visas for the undercard but then I checked boxrec and nothing has been scheduled as chief support...

It is strange. Maybe linares wanted to fight back in the us or Hearn wants to stack the undercard with uk fighters for more exposure.

What this tells me is that matchhroom aren't that confident that Campbell will win. If they were this would take place at a stadium in his home town.

Think Golden Boy ran out of options, HBO gave them the date for Linares. Hearn said the original choice was Argenis Mendez, then they tried to get Salido. Everyone else had fights lined up. The Campbell fight was supposed to be happening in the UK at the end of the year.

OK now it makes perfect sense because I do remember reading on here recently that Campbell/linares wasn't next. Works for me though hopefully we get Garcia vs linares after that

lol Hearn wants this on in the early hours in the UK so nobody sees his gold medalist boy get schooled and knocked out. Sky likely won't even screen it if they know what's good for this Campbell kids future marketing.
