"I won that belt with blood, sweat, sacrifice, a great training camp, by beating Miguel Angel Cotto,” Alvarez said in Spanish. “When I vacated it, they gave it to the other guy like that, without making him drop a bead of sweat. He didn’t even go through a single training camp and they gave it to him. They put it on the table. That’s not an organization you can respect.”

The thing is, what was the WBC expected to do? GGG was the mandatory and I think I'm right in that they let Canelo fight once or twice and he still wouldnt fight GGG. That doesnt normally happen, the WBC give him special treatment. Then we have the famous "just give me my belt" and the ultimate humiliation for Canelo.

Canelo then goes down to '155', meanwhile GGG has a couple of sub par performances. Nothing is mentioned until the Chavez fight, when the deal is done and Canelo rips into the WBC.

To me, it looks like he needed a fallguy and invented this whole story a year later.
Like most ABC's did you forget that Champs can make a voluntary defense? Why would it be special for GGG? People seem to forget the Khan fight wasn't a favor. That was Nelo abiding by his Voluntary just like other champions can in other ABCs.

Nobody's crying to Heilland has been taking step aside fees and now he must face Charlo. Lol. He was already given the right to fight GGG since Brook

Alvarez said he would fight at 160 in 2 years. That was his interview in fighthype in October of 2015. Look at Nelo at the Smith fight pulling down his undies. As if he could make 154 ever again. Nelo can't do 154 anymore in title campaigns, and his fans and the boxing world expect nothing less than a fight with Golovkin.

Alvarez and GBP knew that All-Star would win that 8.5 million dollar case. Why do u think they setup a guaranteed payday with Chavez!!! Seeing the PPV numbers that Jacobs and GGG had which fight would make more sense to start off 2017? Chavez or Golovkin?

Now that Alvarez has summed the All Star fiasco he get down with Golovkin. Alvarez was never obligated to fight Golovkin as he was t even ranked, at most under BJS for the WBO. He would have to see Golovkin in any other ABC as the B side if he campaigned in the other ABCs. GBP won the strategy to acquire all the belts in his fight and still be the A side.

You guys may not like that, but u guys gotta give that hustling credit to Oscar. Basically Tom knows this is as good as it gets for an opportunity with Alvarez and surely Abel has been pushing to finally do it.

Why was GGG the mandatory for the belt in the first place? And even if that was a new thing how come we haven't seen any other champ from other division getting a mandatory status at the WBC belt.

ggg fought the wbc interim champion in a unification fight and won.

thus making ggg the interim champ and cotto's overdue mandatory.

cotto paid ggg to step aside so cotto could fight canelo, with cotto and canelo promising to face ggg next if they won.

canelo broke his promise and wanted a voluntary. wbc & ggg agreed to one voluntary if canelo promised, in writing, that he would fight ggg right after khan.

he broke his promise AGAIN, but this time the wbc had it in writing and didnt have to worry about canelo or ggg suing the wbc. so per the agreement canelo signed, ggg was elevated from interim to world champion.

This "beef" with the WBC is definitely a smoke screen. This is the organization that gifted him a belt against an unranked JMW in Mathew Hatton at a catch weight (even changed the catch weight along the way).

He's either trying to save face for the blatant ducking of GGG or perhaps he's trying to avoid the WBC's strict drug testing protocol.

Most likely you won't...only in this case where Golovkin fights someone who came to the fight overweight.

CNelos is acting like a little b.itch because the WBC actually made him give up his belt because GB didn't want Canelo to fight Gennady 2 years ago and made him drop the belt and it made him look like a b.itch And hurt his ego

Never mind before actually trying to force the Gennady fight the WBC bent over backwards to him and treated him like a modern red haired Jesus.

IVe said it for years and still think it's true Canelos stubborn pride will be his downfall and it'll start in Sept.

Whether you agree with the Canelo or not there's no doubt that the WBC has been a joke for years and it's nice to finally see someone call them out on it.
