Love the man, I believe he is top5 P4P, etc. You all know he's my favourite fighter. I never say he's the perfect fighter, and I do think he has a very good defense unlike many others think.
Having said that. I believe he did use roids in some (not all) of his fights from 2010 to 2015.
And it did nothing but hurt his career. It made him look invincible and had the whole MW division running scared of him.
He would have still beat all of the guys he fought, by KO in most cases, just that in later rounds. Maybe would've gone to a decision against Murray, for example. But in the other hand, I believe Murray was using roids as well so it evens out.
If he didn't use the roids, he would've gotten better fights before, I think.
And he wasn't as impressive after VADA 365/7 testing because he had to stop using the roids. He looked smaller in the weigh in of the Wade fight and some people pointed out that maybe he didn't train as hard because he didn't care about Wade. Or maybe it's because he was being VADA tested for the second time? You can see that he looked smaller in the Brook fight. Then prior to the Jacobs fight he started including more weight exercises to his routine and it helped him to rebuild the muscle. You could see he was doing lots of pullups and pushups with rings before the Jacobs fight.
Some will say it's age. Yeah, age makes you smaller. Testosterone decreases in your 30's. But not roiding also does it. Maybe it's a combination of both things?
And I think he will still be a great fighter without the PEDs. Because he's just that good and he prooved it in the amateurs and in the Jacobs fight.
And yes, I think most of them are using the roids. Mayweather did, Pacquiao did, Canelo did/does, Sergio did and many others... specially when they stay away from VADA and fight only twice a year.
That's my two cents.
