I think the Parkinson's had started earlier. If you watch the pre-fight footage Ali was already slurring his speech and his hands were shaking. Personally, I think it was the third Frazier fight that did it.

Because these people are casuals who probably don't even know who Louis is. You can ask em to even recite 5 of Ali's opponents and they wouldn't be able to do it.
