Hope the last 3 spots feature some better talent. It's quite a massive drop from the other SMW tournament which had Froch, Ward, Kessler, Abraham, Dirrell, etc.
Is it a promotional reason why Eubank Jr, Dirrell, Degale, and Ramirez are not in this?Last edited by Cobra_; 07-06-2017, 04:41 AM.

Bearing in mind the Mundo is the WBCs #1 contender and the WBC seem to have given full backing to the WBSS I've a feeling that waiting it out will only result in Dirrell being left out in the cold.
why would haymon risk losing those belts by putting his fighters in the tournament? wouldn't make any sense unless nearly every fighter in the tournament was a haymon fighter and he liked his odds.

A shame that Smith won't get the world title shot against Dirrell.
He was mandatory for a long time and i wanted to see him win that fight. He sat on the shelf a little when he earned that shot and it was a waste in the end.
I'm not surprised they walked away though, with Dirrell and Haymon dragging that on and wanting to revise contracts. It had gotten silly.
This is a good platform for Smith though. Interest in seeing how he gets on.
