who cares there is NOBODY McGregor could spar with who is going to make a fighter with 0 professional boxing fights beat the BEST boxer in the world. Floyd has sparred with bums in his own stable who have gone on to lose to B class fighters. If all it took was sparring then Floyd who is the best of his generation has literally sparred with hundreds of fighters through out his career and most are still at whatever level they were at when Floyd sparred with them. No trainer, no sparring partner, ect is going to make McGregor something he isn't in less then 2 months.
This is like saying I'm challenging Lebron to a game of 1 on 1 even though I've never played in the NBA but I'm going to hire Durant to workout with me a few weeks before I face Lebron. There is nothing Durant could teach a novice in a few weeks to beat the best player in the world.

he's a pro boxer with a good head on his shoulders, very little to prove, and very little power.
you pick the wrong guy and he's just going to beat the f#ck out of connor in sparring. paulie is the perfect sparring partner, frankly. doesn't mean mcgregor's got even an iceberg's chance in hell of winning, but the choice for sparring is really solid.

He coulf have a time machine and bring back pretty boy floyd, whitaker, ivan calderon **** anyone and everyone to spar and he'll still get easily beat by floyd.

Great way for Showtime to provide additional 'hype' for the fight by planting Paulie (the fight night analyst) in McGregor's camp.

I've been waiting for some big positive news from McGregor camp, like flooring a reputable boxer, someone reputable saying how well he looks, etc. Not saying it's gonna be Paulie but they have got to get out some substantial PR. Sparring with Paulie can only help or it can't hurt; I can't think of nothing that's going to help him in the ring with Floyd.
