HBO has a lot of competitors for original content now, too.

SHO and Starz develop more original shows these days.

Netflix and Amazon are now competitors with much more of their own original content.

Apple just brought in two former Sony execs to presumably start developing their own original content.

Netflix is the biggest threat of HBO, man Netflix is changing the game, HBO is becoming irrelevant, more people are watching Netflix than Premium Cable this i the truth

The great thing about Netflix is its a streaming service with original shows and you dont have to wait a week to watch a new episode like on HBO you can watch the entire season at once.

Another thing is the portability of Netflix I watch it on my tablet and can download movies on my tablet from netflix and watch them at work during break or when I travel I can use wifi at the hotel to watch.

People are not going to want to pay for premium cable like HBO or showtime with Netflix and Amazon putting out stuff.

More and more people are only getting basic cable now, I dont get HBO anymore and we only get basic Cable which includes ESPN.

Only reason I used to get HBO and Showtime was for the boxing, now that HBO doesnt have much boxing and only has GGG and Canelo its not even worth it, Haymons fighters, Mayweather, Pacquiao are no longer on HBO.
