And how popular is Lomachenko? So just by the names he's listed I threw out comparable names since he didn't list them.

Triple G is popular but Canelo is obviously the most popular on his list.

Joshua for sure is very popular, definitely more than Triple G on a world wide scale.

As someone mentioned though, if Mayweather fights McGregor this year, Mayweather for sure hands down would be the face still.

But I'm thinking TS is referring to the new age boxing stars that have a long future.

In that scenario I say Canelo and Joshua.
I edited my post. I'd say Kovalev and Lomachenko are in the same general boat as Ward and Crawford - excellent fighters that are well known amongst boxing fans and not really well known outside of that.

We are more or less in complete agreement, lol.

The heavyweight division is the premier event in boxing, always has been and always will be! (These are the facts that you need to deal with and understand!)...

Yeah, during the Klitschko's reign as champions that was the worst that I've ever seen the Heavyweight division.

For sure, no question during that time, twilight of career De La Hoya, Mayweather, Pacquiao and Cotto were the face of boxing, particularly Mayweather and Pacquiao and carried the sport through an almost extinct Heavyweight division.

Now the Heavyweight division has heated up again and is back in the limelight and talk of boxing. The Heavyweight division is a historic division and considered the glamor division. But damn, that Klitschko era was rough. Lol

In order to be the face of boxing you have to be a winner he is, on the P4P list, he is, able to sell tickets he can't, and recognized on the streets he isn't

Yeah to be honest the only guys you can put in that poll are Canelo, Joshua and perhaps Triple G.

But we know Canelo and Joshua are more popular world wide and have better PPV success than Triple G.

Thurman and Spence are good but not as popular as the above mentioned.

I would have made it a 3 man poll:

                  Joshua, Canelo and Triple G

The Kiltschko era was rough ONLY if you lived in America, or the United Kingdom! But all over Europe and in the old Soviet Union the Kiltschko brothers are legends! (I can remember i used to work with a german girl, and one day, i was talking about boxing to her! and i was just reeling off names to her! She only knew who Mike Tyson was and The Kiltschko brothers! She told me that her entire family would sit down to watch all of the Kiltschko fights!).....

That is why Globally i don't really think Floyd Mayweather was ever the face of boxing! (He never fought outside of america for a reason! Anybody can gather a million followers of twitter and Instagram!).

Floyd is still the face of boxing, clearly. Otherwise the McGregor fight wouldn't even be considered.

Worldwide, even Pacquiao is still more recognizable than Canelo or Joshua.
