Comments Thread For: Has Heated Ward-Kovalev Rivalry Made Rematch More Interesting?

By Andreas Hale - When Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev met in November. The tension and animosity between the two certainly wasn't like it is now. Seven months ago there were two top five pound for pound fighters competing to be recognized as the best in the world. But something changed that night...

If the 2 months of whining, b1tching and counterb1tching from Roc and ME are their idea of promoting a fight they need to find another business. On paper it's still about the best fight there is to be made but yet somehow no-one seems to give a damn about it.

The hardcores don't need to be sold on this fight. For the casuals, maybe. It'll definitely be a tough fight for both boxers.

Of course its more interesting because of all that ballyhoo! Thats what Trash-Talk is good for!
BTW i think Kovalev is one of the nicest guys in boxing and i wish him all the best and hope he ends Wards career and will punish him. I cant stand that Ward-Guy. Kovalev has all the tools to beat Ward, he is better in every department, if he comes with more stamina this time Ward has no chance. No chance at all. It will be a great day for boxing. I'm on this forum since 2004 so i know my ****.
I also cant't stand this ****** "Kovalev is a racist" bull****!!! He just dont like ****** and disrespectful people, thats it.

I think most fight fans are interested in the fight, however coughing up more PPV money is a different matter. I can't see the fight being much different from the 1st fight, which although entertaining left me wishing I had not shelled out $$$ to watch it.

I'm kind of sick of it.

Ward is a fantastic fighter that I've followed since before the Olympics but he can be seriously annoying and has been a total **** the way he has managed his career.

Kovalev is a great fighter but (even though I think he was robbed) he didn't handle the loss with any grace at all. Sometimes people give him an unfairly hard time because English is not, after all, his native language and he can express himself crudely, but he can cross the line at times.

Looking forward to the fight though. Hope the refereeing and scoring will be of a higher standard.

I think the fix is in again. In order for Kovalev to win he'll have to knock Ward out or pound him ring post to ring post every round. All American judges is su****ious, any round Ward holds and hangs on he'll win just like in the first fight. Like in the first fight the referee will once again fail to notice all of Ward's grabbing and holding and hitting. I hove Kovalev K****s Ward out in the 2nd round this time. Not a fan of Wards style of holding and hitting as a means of winning rounds

For me, it has. I'm a big fan of both guys and the ****-talking has given it a great edge because the animosity is real. I'm not sure why people have a downer on this fight. I cannot wait.
