i dont think ward is asking too much for the writers and media to respect him.....

hes a good guy outside the ring and a winner inside it..and hes respecftul........if he were acting like floyd to sell and coon himself theyd be crying about how hes a "knock off of floyd" and a POS

the problem is a guy like chris mannix wants to go out and write a terrible article on him and say things like "he needed to fight"...the guy had injuries and promotional issues...you cant predict those things and you just cant fight through them all of the time...they happened at bad times and stymied some momentum he had.....he cant help that....he just fought back though and got back to the top...he should be respected by the media and boxing writers...no good reason not to

this is true...the networks know the bloodsport aspect appeals more to the common man...they also know that boxing diehards alone dont pay the bills

Kovalev's style is boxer/puncher and Ward's style is Clincher/Head-butter and sprinkle in a little of the victim card.

It's not about style with these racist fans on here. They like the "Black fighter." They could not careless if the fighter clinches or runs for 12 rounds. But when Wlad clinches - they cry and when a White fighter runs (I actually couldn't even name one White fighter who is known for running) they'll cry about that too.

Anyone who thinks "Clinching" is good for boxing is a total idiot and not even a boxing purist - that used to get fighters disqualified - now in this new PC culture we live in - Clinching is actually encouraged by the officials with no in-fighting permitted.

I thought I was the only one that realized that Ward has basically emulated Floyd's mannerisms, speech patters and even tone.

Ward is absolutely right here but it goes more than one way. You have so called "purists" who will automatically assume that any offensively gifted fighter has no defense/skill. Other people will say that anyone who makes guys miss is a "runner"
Or if you're not super fast then you're a bum lol
Roger Mayweather is right about one thing. "Most people don't know shet about boxing"

You can objectively like clinching, head-butting and potshotting as a style?

I would guess you're also a Libtard who voted for Hillary?

Wlad's clinching was excessive. Some times he would initiate a clinch rather than throw a punch. You can't even compare the two. There's clinching at some point in every fight. That's why you hear refs yell "Break" 3 or four times a fight. If the ref give you a warning and you keep doing he should take a point. If clinching and headbutting was the only things Ward had in his skillset he would have lost years ago.
