Dude, NO ONE would of cared if Hatton blew Augustus out in 5 rounds, NO ONE. He would just be labelled as an overprotected and overhyped fighter.
Augustus would have brought more viewers, and would have been a much better style fight for Hatton.
He would have looked great in a very exciting fight in this latest "coming to America" fight, instead of stinking it out against a lesser known fighter.
You said fighting Augustus would have done 'zilch' for his career. In terms of preformacne excitment and viewers, it would have been a better fight than Collazo.
Try and keep up.

He does that ****** showboating that keeps the fight close and it's his own fault. Stop making excuses for him everyone. Thanks.

Boozo, haven't you learned anything yet. Augustus is UNPROFESSIONAL. Maybe he should of thought about taking his career seriously then making an absolute gong show out of it. Quit making excuses for him, it's his own fault he's at where he is today.
I also got a question:
1) What happened with Augustus when he fought Teddy Reid?
You know, the same Teddy Reidwho just lost to an out of prime Candelo (which isn't saying much), fought life and death with an old, out of prime Laporte, and lost BY KNOCKOUT to Tackie Kermit Cintron.
Answer:
He got beat by a one-dimensional puncher. Not a boxer, a puncher. Stop making excuses for Augustus. He's unprofessional and that's why he hasn't made it up the ranks.

LOL, you can't back up your non sense, so you start spinning.
Hatton fights in front of Augustus' fans, looks exciting, and gains a bigger following in the US
vs
Fights relative unknown to the casual fan in Collazo, looks like John Ruiz, and alienates a bunch of people who'd never seen him before.
You said Augustus would have done 'zilch' for his career, and you were wrong. He would have been a much better opponent choice than Collazo.

So, Augustus has a "cult following" eh? So, you mean, people here about an Augustus fight and they tune in even if they aren't even boxing fans. Riiiight! You seem to think he's the DelaHoya of ESPN.
He is neither:
A) Marketable (imagine Hatton trying to hype up a fight against a 20 something, 20 loss novice)
B) Good (How many times has Emmanuel been soundly beaten)
For hte last time, from a business standpoint it makes zero sense. ZERO.

You don't know what you're talking about.
Augustus fights on ESPN all the time, because people tune in to watch him fight.

Yeah, stop reiterating your ******ed point. He's a house ESPN fighter. So what? Who gives a ****.
Do you really think HBO is going to waste a precious date on a ****ing CLOWN. Hatton fights 2 times a year, why the hell would you waste a fight on Augustus. What would it do for Hatton in terms of legacy and dollars and cents (which is what fighters these days only seem to care about). Again, ZILCH.
So, let me get this straight. If Hatton blew Emmanuel out of the water in under 5 rounds (which is what he would of done) all of his 'diehard' fans would start tuning in for Ricky Hatton fights? Nope.
