even if he loses, it seems amir khan has come around on that fight, so i don't see either guy moving up after this fight...win or lose.
Still though that doesn't answer my question as to why it's okay for some guys told drop 20-30lbs and fight smaller guys. But it's not okay for others. My opinion it's wrong no matter Who's doing it.

Let me put it like this: both Kell and errol walk around weight is around the same as triple Gs ( a middleweight ), somewhere in the 170s. Their words not mine. So if tomorrow triple G comes down and weighs in at 147 and fights Keith Thurman, would you call GGG a welterweight? or would you say he's a mw melting himself down fighting in a division he's too big for ?

The criticism with Canelo was not with being a 154lb fighter... it was with him defending his title at catchweights above 154, and having opponents jump up in weight to fight him when there's plenty of challengers at his own weight division. I like Canelo, and I'm glad he's stepping up to GGG... but I wasn't a fan of the catch weights and Lopez/Khan type opponents.

All fighters have to cut weight. If a fighter can make the weight, they are whatever class division the scale says they are. The only time there is weight bullying, is when fighters are pulling opponents up from lower weight classes.

I find it funny that people don't critique him on that but bashed canelo to no end for the same thing.
I think Spence and brook are both weight bullying at 147. The difference is win or lose I think brook will move up. Spence seems like he plans on staying at 147.
Why the double standard though?
We need to go back to the days of same day weigh ins. Fight at your natural weight or don't fight at all. If everyone fought at their natural weight everyone would be on an even playing field
