Comments Thread For: Bundu: I Favor Thurman To Beat Spence - He's Faster, Hits Harder

Italian Olympian Leonard Bundu is the only opponent to step in the ring with both Keith Thurman and Errol Spence. In December of 2014, Bundu was dropped in the first round and went on to lose a twelve round unanimous decision at the hands of Thurman, who now holds the WBC, WBA welterweight titles.

Not surprised. But Spence seems more accurate.

Bundu's comments on their punching power makes no sense whatsoever. Spence ko'd him in six, and Thurman couldn't ko Bundu in twelve, so where does he get that assessment from lol. Spence obviously the much more powerful puncher. With the comment on speed, that could possibly be true, but Spence's power is much better.

Great insight by Bundu. Thurman does look like he hits harder with one KO punch, but he has also learn not to rely too much on his power, you see him boxing a lot more now and can fight from the outside. Spence tends to overwhelm you shots and after shots especially to the body before he then kills your head. To beat Spence hopefully Brook doesn't back off him too much because that would play into Spence gameplan.

Good call Ray*. Can Brook play matador to the bull...I'm ready to watch. 5:15 in the afternoon here in GA.

But to the topic, I haven't seen enough of Spence to say he'd beat Thurman - I'm hoping to get alot of questions answered this weekend. Keith used to leave himself pretty open when he attacked, and he's tightened that up significantly in his last several fights.

So go spar with both of em. I won't. But you go ahead. We need your expert experience on this one. LOL

Or maybe you didn't notice that Thurman very obviously wanted to box 12, and he did exactly that in the Bundu fight. He's even mentioned since then he wanted to make that statement in that fight.

Reminds me of when Pascal said Froch hits harder than Kovalev.

A lot of revisionist history going with the Thurman Bundu fight. Thurman didn't "choose" not to stop Bundu, he couldn't.... why would a power puncher take a come forward pillow fisted opponent 12 rounds???

Thurman looked very uncomfortable for that whole fight and his hype took a serious dent that night, that's when guys started calling him "Run time"
