But I agree with Lee of course. Canelo will not only give GGG a lot of problems, but also GGG will give Canelo very few things to worry about. Once Canelo's defense sets in and he can evade/block Golovkin's power punches in the first 4-5 rounds that's when it will settle in on non-believers that Canelo is just too good and GGG is good but not on the same level.

There is a reason why Canelo makes fighters get on their bike or run from him. Or guys 2 weight classes bigger back up refuses to throw punches. It's his hand speed, accuracy and timing. Canelo ACTUALLY wants you to come forward and let your hands go. That's when you are most vulnerable to his counters and get hit with shots you don't see coming. He slips and picks off your shots and makes you pay. GGG is extremely slow with terrible defense and head movement. It's going to be target practice if GGG can't hurt Canelo.

Not sure I get AL's angle or reasoning with his comments. I like Lee and was glad to see him recover and draw with quill n in their fight. Even said he would take on GGG for a title. Then he lost a fight (and potential showdown with GGG) to BJS in a lack-luster performance. Meanwhile Quillen, gets blasted out in what 90 seconds by Daniel Jacobs,.....who has was all but shut down by GGG. Yet AL thinks Canelo will give GGG problems???!!!??? Based on what Andy??????

NOT TRUE AT ALL. Chavez Jr is yes, 4-5 inches taller. But he looked LEAN, even skinny next to that huge blocky line-backer-built Canelo on fight night. I estimate Chavez Jr. was 180 tops AND VERY UNHEALTHY, and Canelo was around 185, 100% in top shape, totally healthy.

AMOF I don't remember A SINGLE FIGHT where Canelo wasn't heavier than his opponent on fight night.

For the GGG fight, I estimate GGG will be around 170 and Canelo will be no less than 180. And still, the one hitting the more powerful punches will undoubtedly be GGG.

I think it was a fair assessment by Lee. Not sure what his loss to Chavez Jr. has to do with anything. As if that disqualifies him from offering an unbiased and professional opinion.

This will not be an easy fight for GGG. Brook and Jacob's have shown that he can be hit and has a tendency to take punches he doesn't need to take. His defense is not very strong, and Canelo will have the advantage in quickness and counter-punching. They are each facing their toughest challenge of their careers.

+1 If posters can put their fanboyism aside, real boxing fans know this isn't gonna be a cakewalk for either guy.

Canelo has shown weakness when he faces a mobile opponent, but Golovkin isn't exactly mobile like Lara, and stands in the pocket. So its going to come down to chin and power, as they are both going to be landing. Canelo's speed and accuracy on counters is going to see him getting his licks in early, and it depends on how Golovkin takes the shots as I suspect he's going to be landing more on Golovkin than he gets back. But Golovkin is going to catch him with shots too, and he has heavy hands, so how will Canelo react when he gets hit hard. Going to be interesting - Canelo will have to be really on his game to block the hurtful shots and Golovkin's chin will have to hold up so he can land - could go either way.
Great assessment,my thoughts exactly. But I do see a lil bit weaker speed beating a lil slower w /more power. Speed is the most underrated asset in boxing. I see canelo outboxing golovkin with pot shots early then slowly steadily building a lead,I think gigis power is overrated,he just has fought weak opponents with no power.

Canelo will throw the right shot, at the right time, in the right manner.;.... he has much better timing and accuracy, so will be much more effective

that right hand over the top will make him a good boy
What does that have to do with what I said?
