as i mentioned...ward knows what smart people know...this faceoff aint selling any extra ppvs....boxing fans that subscribe to hbo that are gonna buy this fight already are gonna buy this fight...and they arent not going to buy it because there is no face off...he showed up to pressers and posed for pictures.......these so called casuals you think this hbo faceoff is going to sway simply dont exist
    Lmao...

These hype shows don't help sell more ppv??

Floyd mayweather would highly disagree... shows like 24/7, face-off, and countless interviews

Ward- undefeated, Olympian, p4p royalty, nobody likes him, doesn't promote and can't draw

Floyd- undefeated, Olympian, p4p royalty, nobody likes him, PROMOTES HIS SHOWS, and is the biggest draw in history of sports.

To think promotion shows doesn't matter is beyond ******..

Just shows how much ward cares about his fans. Ungrateful little prick.

Not doing it makes Ward either ignorant, or a douche. Or both.
If his guarantee is higher than $5M like he claimed, there will most definitely be zero upside. Ward isn't losing out on anything himself. Roc Nation on the other hand should be mad. And you'd think they put something in the contract regarding promotional obligations.

Dude is pretty clueless it seems. What he's saying is like saying a company shouldn't run commercials or buy a billboard. The people that will buy your product are already going to buy it, no need to advertise.

Of course, that's the same guy that told me calling me a fanboy wasn't derogatory

So who was it that no showed?

I saw the tweets by Main Events saying that Ward no showed.

And I saw another thread stating that a source said it was Kovalev that no showed?

So which is the truth? Was it Kovalev or Ward that didn't show up?

As a matter of fact, why even promote at all? No need for posters, flyers, tv commercials, billboards, email blasts, or any other promotional items. Just announce it on boxingscene and thats that......
Yes, then we can have the fight from my apartment. Jim Lampley can do the commentary from my bathtub, Max can sit on the toilet seat, and you don't even want to know where we're going to have to stick Roy. My SO says the loser has clean up, and because of Max on toilet we'll all have to pee in the sink. The first case of Canadian beer is on me, after that it's BYOB.

Seriously, after the degree to which HBO stuck with Ward through his low activity / ho-hum performance period you'd think he'd try a little harder. If it was Ward who was the no-show. Especially if he wants Roy's job at some point (because I don't think he's got much longer in the ring for boxing). If it was Kov that didn't show, that's still bad... Though that doesn't seem like the way he handles things. (Since there seems to be some debate about it.)

So any concrete information on which one of the two no showed?

They're both saying it was the other one's fault.

There is no debate, just a couple of internet trolls being childish.

It was obviously Andre Ward who didn't show up.
