How would vitali fair in this "new age" heavyweight scene

    Prime Vitali obviously beat them all. Fury would be the most competitive fight for him. IMO AJ and Wilder would get stopped mid to late.

    40+ Vitali would struggle with a speed of the younger guys.

      I don't think that's obvious at all.

      The guys that are fighting now are better than the samuel peters and chris arreolas of the world.

          I can't see AJ (who is still green) or Wilder (with those wild punches) beating prime Vitali - no way. Ok, maybe AJ with some monstrous punch - but even that doesn't guarantee the victory as we are talking about the ATG chin.

          Tyson would be somewhat competitive, but I think that Vitali's aggression would make it very difficult for Tyson to use the same tactics as against Wlad.

          For me, it's quite obvious that Vitali would be a big favorite to beat them all. Same way prime Lennox would be.

            Vitali is actually a stylistic nightmare for AJ.


            When AJ expended himself in rd 5/6 and he was just standing there against the ropes....... Wlad legit just looked at him while throwing single right hands to the head. he has no punch selection.


            Vitali would be throwing hooks, straights to the head while going to the body like he did with Cory Sanders to force the stoppage. Even if AJ survived 5/6, he would never get a 2nd wind due to the body attack. Vitali goes to the body regularly.

              He probably beats them all. Fury would be the hardest fight for Vitali, just due to the style and movement. Wlad was always more mobile than Vitali and even he couldn't deal with Fury's movement. I could see Fury doing the same kind of job on Vitali. Vitali might have been less cautious to throw but Fury would barely allow a fighter like Vitali be in position to throw.

              Actually, Fury is basically a stylistic nightmare for almost any modern big heavyweight. He might not be exciting or explosive but it's effective. How do you even prepare for a 6'9 guy with intelligent ring craft and movement? - As great as Vitali was, he would struggle with this style too.

                This well might be true, but before I make the final conclusion on Fury I want to see him against AJ. Wlad was way too tentative that night and I am not sure how would Fury deal with the opponent that hits that hard and doesn't mind taking a few to land one. Fury's chin is not exactly iron one.

                  I'm about 95% certain a prime Vitali would've not only defeated Joshua, but with quite ease as well, along with Fury, and Wilder. Although Fury would probably give him the most trouble.

                    hed have beaten them all imo. i always thought vitali was the better out of the two of them, and 41 yr old wlad nearly beat AJ. if you have a look at vitali v lennox lewis i still think that was a higher quality contest than any recent heavyweight fight ive seen, i couldnt pick anyone to beat vitali.

                      Prime Vitali beats any of the current HWs as of now. Joshua is still a few years away from his prime, but I'd love to see those 2 go at it in there primes if Joshua continues developing
