His natural weight is 170+, but he has to bull**** the game and these people want to call him a mexican champ. lol.
Keep in mind Canelo has plucked Chavez Jr. out of irrelevancy and obscurity and made it possible for this wastrel to make a few million dollars and many more millions if he beats Canelo. As the saying goes, Jr. shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

This aint not glass chin under weight Amir Khan. It's a super middleweight/light heavyweight that is coming in hungry and with his last life line. I have said it from day one and no one believed me, Canelo may lose this fight. This is the first time he will be the relatively smaller guy. And both guys do not move at all. May the best chin win.

Losing 2-3 pounds per week is a healthy rate of taking off weight. The human body only loses about 2-3 pounds of actual fat in a week, whatever is lost after that is muscle. Four weeks ago Jr. weighed in at 178, so he has lost 8.5 pounds in four weeks, right on target unless he is drying out for these periodic weigh ins and gaming the system. He does look emaciated. He can lose a couple more pounds of fat before the fight, the rest will have to be water. He is losing weight at a healthy rate (providing he really is losing fat and not just water), the problem is, what gains is he making while losing this weight? Any gains in stamina? Strength, speed, power? We'll find out in about a week.

irrelevancy that he created on his own. If he was dedicated jr would surpass Canelo in relevancy on his name alone. Chavez Jr wins you can forget about Canela.

If it is a close fight you can believe they will do it again in September. Maybe in Dallas this time. Poor GGG. i really think both guys will come out with a victory sort of in this one. Especially Chavez . Even if he loses they will fight again in September which is the real Independence day by the way. Both will make big money.

                Another moronic maxipad^

I agree. Jr. created his own demise and if he beats Canelo, he gets to have the limelight for a while. That is a big IF though. He will find ways to lose the fight. I think Jr. gets a beat down and does a lot of complaining to the ref, then whines and complains about the weight and everything else. It will be everyone's fault but his. We shall see.

GGG is now the odd man out. He is an afterthought. He should have grabbed the $15 million when he had a chance.

If all Jrs camp has been about is weight loss then he is in for a beating. If he has worked on his tactics and gameplan and imposes himself physically on Canelo (with a helathy weight advantage) then he beats Canelo.

We will find out soon enough.
