Comments Thread For: Parker: I View Cojanu Bout as Being More Dangerous Than Fury

The heavyweight boxing champion Joseph Parker is relieved his three month training camp has not been in vain. Parker, the WBO title holder, will fight two metre tall Romanian Razvan Cojanu in Auckland next week after mandatory challenger Hughie Fury withdrew from the bout last week citing a back injury.

BS fight. Don't blame Parker or his team it's a last minute replacement. Rip into that soft sh it talker Hughie and his family for bailing out 14 days before the fight with an "injury"

I'm definitely okay with this. There wasn't much they could do with less than 2 weeks to go.

At least Parker gets to stay busy and active.

I don't blame Parker or the management for this, but I am gonna call bull**** when I see it.

Cojanu is barely even a top 100 heavyweight. Hughie is weirdly overrated by the Brits but he's much, much better than this guy. This is an outrageous mismatch.

No arguments there. It's a horrible mismatch but i don't want to hear anything about Parker ducking in a circumstance like this. Team Fury should be getting ripped apart not the guys willing to fight having to scramble. WBO rankings are dodgy let's hope the next opponent is worthy

... Cojanu isn't even the best HW in Romania... He is ranked behind Hammer and Dinu...

... not to mention Mihai Nistor (26), who stopped Joshua back in 2011... Nistor is still fighting at the amateurs...

Was that a typo or did I read correctly that Cojanu only has 2 knockouts in 18 fights? If so, that's weak punching for a heavyweight.

I'm happy that Parker gets to fight in NZ, I think that the Fury name is becoming more meaningless by the day.
