Comments Thread For: Warren: Golovkin Injury Holding Up Getting GGG-Saunders Done

An injury to Gennady Golovkin supposedly has held up the finalization of a Golovkin-Billy Joe Saunders middleweight title unification fight. According to Frank Warren, Saunders' promoter, Saunders has signed a contract to challenge Golovkin for middleweight supremacy June 10 in Golovkin's native Kazakhstan. Warren told iFL TV during an interview posted Thursday that he has been told presumably by Tom Loeffler, Golovkin's promoter that an injury to Golovkin has delayed the completion of their deal.

Wow, what a bunch of B.S.

I haven't heard Loeffler comment on this injury yet. But I doubt Warren is making this up.

I have to question GGG and Loeffler on this. I like Triple G but the way all of this has been handled is amateurish. I hold Loeffler accountable for the way this has been handled. And if GGG really does have an injury, he should have and I'm guessing would have informed everyone about it. Not a good look at all for GGG and Loeffler.

lol he doesn't have an injury, they're simply buying more time to negotiate for the Canelo fight.

Injuries are part of sports. Team GGG is smart to wait until he is fully evaluated before committing to any fights.

People talking about he's not injured because he hasn't publicly said he is? This is the same guy who had the flu to the point everyone including his own broadcast network was saying he was sick and his response "i'm fine guys, i'm fine". He also didn't use it as an excuse post jacobs fight which I can respect.

Golovkin haters blaming him for something some other promoter said without evidence. Warren may not know **** and/or be full of it. No one told him to speak but somehow this means Golovkin is... What? Ducking Saunders? Lol.

Golovkin hater, "I don't know what this unverified information means, but somehow it's bad for Golovkin."
