A really good fighter, who seems to be getting better with every fight.

The lack of foot speed will seem to always be an issue, but he's got pretty much everything else. Good fundamentals (good jab, throws to the body, solid defense), throws his punches in combination, can fight in all phases (inside/middle/long), good power, a good chin, and boxing IQ that grows with every fight (the setup for the shot that he put Amir Khan out with was utter beauty).

Let's see how much he improves by the time he's 28 years old (physical development will be pretty much done, but he'd still have space to keep getting mentality sharper.

            exactly like Broner.

Size was his great advantage (even then he's had very close fights with smaller and aging fighters).

Now that he's body has filled out.... his stature is too small for most guys in his weight class. He will get close decisions vs good guys at MW+ but he will be beat by the elite.

Very good boxer with solid fundamentals; he has a good jab backed by various power punches. His hook to the body is a big plus. Under-rated defensively and his ring IQ is increasing fight by fight.

But his footwork is slow. He really needs to plant before unloading his power punches so mobile fighters will always give him problems. Due to his build type, I'm not sure his stamina would allow him to move for 12 rounds.

He's not an exceptional fighter because he has used his size advantage to bully average fighters. Even as a bigger fighter he can be made to look ordinary against an elite fighter. e.g. Floyd. An elite fighter who is about the same size is risky for Canelo. e.g. Lara. This is why GBP is not in a hurry to match him with GGG, at least not yet.

Part of his popularity is due to his light complexion and good looks. It's not all about boxing skills.

B+ fighter that will likely reach A if his footwork improves.

Agree with what most people are saying here, personally a huge fan of his body work.

The lack of foot speed will seem to always be an issue,
Oscar knows this and will protect him, don't see him taking on any slick boxers anytime soon.
