Ramirez is too unproven for me to take him over Golovkin, not to mention too inactive in the past year. If he had another fight or two before then, maybe.

Ramirez reminds me of a much bigger, taller, rangier Canelo. He's Mexican, so one would automatically think he's gonna brawl, but instead he actually boxes, moves, tries to score points. While he's largely unproven, in his championship fight vs Abraham, a veteran, he showed a lot poise and patience and I actually like his chances in outboxing GGG. Abraham has more range than GGG but he couldn't do much to Ramirez, completely shut out.

I'm disappointed in Ramirez not fighting after the Abraham win though, I know it was an injury, but still that's 1 year of his prime gone. A whole 12 months without a fight, and now his next fight is not really gonna help him move forward but he does have age on his side though.

Just like Rungvisai the odds for GGG's next opponent are going to be too high.Not saying he's going to lose but if you see 8-1 it might be time to jump

Agreed. I think his style has a bit of a European quality to it. Also really disappointed with the layoff. I don't blame him but he arrived on the scene with a ****, then disappeared for a year. Unfortunate timing.

GGG didn't show his age, he showed what happens when fight somebody with a heart beat and skills. Not only did Jacobs show it, so did the rising in weight class Brooks.

Easy win for triple g. Ramirez is an A level fighter but his ring iq is too basic for ggg.

At 168, I think zurdo has a good chance to beat ggg. Taller longer heavier younger and can crack. Tough fight for ggg at 168

You're right he wasn't outclassed but the thing is Jacobs had success, but he didn't do anything special. He used movement and was able to generate his own offense. Almost the same thing Brook did for a few rounds. We saw the kind of success light punching Monroe had when he was able to generate his own offense. The knock on Golovkin is not that he's not a good fighter. It's his ability to deal with an opponent with size, has boxing ability, and won't wither the first time they feel his power.

The last part of your post, regarding an opponent not withering once they feel GGG'S power, is exactly what I thought would eventually be his undoing. He is quite good at cutting off the ring and has a hell of a jab but I always felt that he may become a little unraveled if he connected clean and the opponent kept coming. I actually think that people will assume that his power is over rated based on the Jacobs fight and this may help him. Fighters may show less respect and then regret it after. Either way, I still cannot tell just how good he is after all this time. Maybe we will find out in September. Peace.
