Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz's Manager Explains Why They Signed With Al Haymon

On Wednesday, krikya360.com's Rick Reeno broke the news that hard hitting Cuban Luis Ortiz (27-0) had brought powerful boxing adviser Al Haymon aboard to his team. Ortiz is promoted by Dade Promotions and managed by Jay Jimenez. The 38-year-old southpaw went 3-0 in 2016, fighting once under Golden Boy Promotions before buying out his contract and then picked up two wins fighting on Matchroom Boxing cards to close out the year.

Don't like this move for Ortiz, the joshua fight would have been far easier to make in house with matchroom, and there were other good fights for him there.

the fact they are talking derreck rossy is not acceptable.

Actually, it's a good move. Because after the joshua vs klitchko then winner vs Wilder then the losers will ready to fight, and he'll get his fight maybe 2 years. And Haymon has proven to be someone that makes sh|t happen and get you paid.

joshua vs klit winner is mandated to fight king kong.... So what you are saying makes no sense.... If the winner doesnt fight king kong they have to drop the belt or pay him step aside money..... Eddie hearn makes fights with haymon alllll the time.... Anthony joshuas last 3 opponents were al haymon clients...

Derric Rossy? Seriously? Ortiz's career going to waste fighting journeymen and no-hopers

Curious what Hearn has to say about this... whether he was in on this or not. If he was, then OK. If not, then it doesn't look good as then it looks like Ortiz' team is all over the place.

Hearn announced they signed him and had great plans but it didn't last long until Dade promotions (ortiz original promoter who owns his rights) came out blasting hearn turning down fights and said we have no official contract with hearn. Now ortiz signing with his 3rd co-promoter/adviser in the last 6 months. Bumped heads with golden boy, bumped heads with hearn let's see how long before Dade Promotions starts bumping heads and interfering with haymon. They got ortiz on some sort of slave contract and think they no more about the business then the best promoters in the world.

Cuban fighters are clearly getting Extorted by these Hole In The Wall Promotions like Dade Promotions and with Rigondeaux Caribe Promotions

I don't know if they help these guys Defect then extort them their entire Pro Career but they all seem to be holding a lot of Cuban Fighters BACK

I still don't think Joshua is guaranteed to beat Klitchko and I'm really not sure Hearn would've been too keen on matching him up against Joshua anyway...
