Originally posted by Redd Foxx View PostHearn made huge promises about how far he was going to take Ortiz, but delivered garbage fights. We'll see what Haymon can do.
Haymon and his camp likely gave Ortiz the same spiel that Hearn did, so now it's on Ortiz to deliver. He's already mandatory challenger for the WBA belt (though Hearn and Haymon's relationship will likely open the door up for Joshua to fight Klitschko, and then clear his IBF mandatory before weighing the Ortiz defense against a possible blockbuster fight against Deontay Wilder), but Ortiz is likely to be given a couple shots on national TV.
BJ Flores is still rated by the WBA, Dominic Breazeale/Charles Martin/Eric Molina are still highly rated fighters, Amir Mansour is just coming offof a relatively big win, and Chris Arreola will still likely get one final shot as being a TV fighter.
Have Ortiz and his camp sit down, pick off two of those six names, perform well on TV, and he'd be pretty well positioned to finally get that massive fight, against Wilder or Joshua/Klitschko winner (Haymon's relationship with K2 isn't all that great, so if the fight went the other way, I'm fairly certain they'd force the immediate fight against Klitschko)
