According to the scorecards, judges gave Golovkin the feeling out rounds which is what made the difference. So even though Golovkin did nothing, he got the benefit of the doubt, giving him the win.
Good decision. Mad respect to Danny. But even the weight gain advantage wasn't enough to beat GGG.
"The weight gain advantage"... Boxing fans are the worst. One sanctioning body initiates a second day weigh in and now petty asz boxing fans like yourself pretend that its a legitimate requirement. You guys will cling to anything that gives you something to complain about...
Not a robbery....I had it just like the judges. DJ jumped out early then got caught with the BS KD. If DJ turns his power hand over (pinky knuckle higher than index knuckle) he could have hurt GGG. They both showed a little too much respect. Plus DJ fought southpaw a lot of the fight.
The criteria for scoring fights is round by round with a 10 point must system..nw at the end of the fight....i am a fan of triple ggg but he lost a close decision and in the process looked slow and one dimensional
Well, GGG got ouboxed overall.
But as you said, it's round by round, and you can find 6 rounds to give to GGG, and you can find 8 rounds to give to DJ.
So with the KD you can make a case that both fighters won.
DJ was impressive with all that taunting and energy he spent.
But he lost some rounds clearly, getting outjabbed, and not landing many punches clean, the 12th rounds is a plain and simple exemple.
1-Jacobs got huge pop for landing a grazing shot or hitting gloves. Same big problem when I attended the Ward vs Kovalev fight. Fans went crazy when Ward landed a jab and even tho he missed his right.
2-Fighters should never be in negotiating another mega fight when he has a tough opponent right in front of him. Once the Canelo fight fell through, GGG and his team should have gave Golden boy and every journalist the cold shoulder until this fight was over. I dont care how tough, good anyone is. It has to be one fight at a time, especially at this level.
