... I thought Paulie just quit -- he also had a commentator job to fulfill last night...

Haha, I didn't even know if fought last night. That's how irrelevant this cry baby is. ***** ass crying because pacquiao didn't acknowledge him when Hatton was still around.

Paulie was over heard telling his trainer that Eggington was on the juice

He was getting up and realized quickly "I'm not hurting this kid" and quit, simple as that. He even acknowledged that as the "silver lining" when he said Sam was getting better and he knew he wasn't going to win the fight. He quit well before that punch. To have an 8 punch combination land while their opponent has his hands down and STILL not put him down was classic. He doesn't belong in that ring anymore and he knew it. Typical of the loud mouth was trying to justify and fluff up his 8 losses to only "champions" or eventual champions. Sam spoke in spurts while Paulie selfishly yapped away and made the interview all about him. He'll never be remembered for his humility, he'll be remembered for being whiny til the end.

When you don't have the power to keep someone at bay and lose someone as Eggington, for sure it's time to retire or fight fighters of less caliber.

In one of the rounds Eggington took a 20 punch combination from Paulie and didn't put him down (although was hurt for a second).

Don't think Paulie quit, because a good body shot will take your breathe for sure.

I wonder what would have happened if there was another 15 seconds in that round when Paulie buzzed him. Egg took what 8 shots '**** on the chen' until Sam's brain did eventually get the message to bring his hands up. But it did look like he could have taken about 30 of those and not gone down, lol. Crazy segment of boxing.

Sam probably will get to fight Danny Garcia at some point and you have to think as strong as he is he would get absolutely banjo'd by Garcia.

The Egg vs Amir Khan would have been a fun fight. Basically because I think he could take a shoeing from Khan and be a problem with his size and strength down the stretch.

Props to Paulie, what a career, 2 division champ and all the heart in the world. When you lose to a fighter of the calibre of Eggington, it's time to call it a day.
