Comments Thread For: Joshua Pleads With Wilder To Start Fighting Better Opponents

One of the biggest fights to be made is a unification between undefeated heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua (18-0, 18 KOs) and Deontay Wilder (37-0, 36 KOs). Both boxers have upcoming defenses scheduled. Wilder is back on Saturday night in Alabama, where he defends his WBC title against Gerald Washington. Joshua returns on April 29th at Wembley, in one of the year's biggest fights, by defending the IBF title against Wladimir Klitschko.

I am a Klitschko fan since day 1 and Klitschko had a stranglehold on the HeavyWeight Division for a little over a decade ....I am beginning to like this Joshua kid because he knows that the Division goes thru Klitschko.....now as far as deontayduckus wilderquackus ..where are all the smart guys with those big ol'knee pads ready to defend deontayduckus at......congratulations to the smart guys with the big ol'knee pads for deontayduckus who dont have anything to say

Joshua is taking the fight Wilder consistently refused to take all through 2015.

Joshua - pro for under 4 years. 18 fights - next fight unification with the man who dominated for 10 years.

Wilder - pro for 9 years. 37 fights - never beat anyone inside top 20 to get his ranking for WBC eliminator. beat an ill Stiverne for best win , hasnt faced anyone decent since

          Not rich, just truthful.

How about Wilder start with you! Eddie Hearn was not ready for it in late 2015 even though you were ranked at high as #2. according to your own promoter so you curbed the WBC and went with the IBF just like Glazkov who was suppose to face Deontay instead of Spilzka! please dont come to America to build nothing up! Deontay been ready!

Appropriate since Joshua has faced a wealth of great opponents, including a Wilder leftover in his last fight. He's now stepping up to take on a guy in his 40's coming off a loss. Preach on AJ.

You mean in 2015 when he injured his hand in winning the WBC? then tried it out for his first voluntary defense and right after he was issued a mandatory with the #2. in the world ( Alexander Pedvetkin ) during this time Wlad been issued his own mando in Tyson Fury.

Joshua must not know, or he must have forgot how Povetkin and Glazkov both ducked the wildman. Fury also had a chance to fight Wilder, but since he declined Wilder for Klitschko, then I wouldn't exactly call that one a duck.

But the point still stands, quality opponents are posponing negotiations, asking for extentions, and then testing positive (Povetkin) or pulling out of negotiations completely so that they can fight for vacant titles (Glazkov), but everyone wanna go and blame Wilder for that.

Lol that’s funny coming from AJ.. both fighters have fought nobodies. Agreed AJ is fighting Vlad next so he deserves his props for taking it so early in his career but back when he was fighting guys like Martin, he kept his mouth shut.

I’m liking this ****y side of him though.. he’s always said he conducts himself like a underdog because he hasn’t fought anyone to act like hes proven. Now that hes fighting Vlad that gives him some confidence to be able to criticise others.

I mean Wilder also said AJ has only fought D level fighters which is even more ridiculous coming from him who is nearly 40 fights in and not fought a single top threat.
