Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Canelo Would Beat Mayweather 'Easy' in Rematch!

If Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26 KOs) is looking for a massive pay-per-view fight - then Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya sees only one option - Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs). Back in 2013 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mayweather dominated Canelo over twelve rounds for a decision win. Their pay-per-view broke several revenue records and generated 2.2 million purchases on pay-per-view.

Did Canelo even have one single memorable moment during that fight? Did he even have one single brief stretch that he clearly won during the entire 12 rounds?

It felt like Floyd won every second of that fight. That **** was a white washing. The 116-112 & 117-111 scorecards seemed generous enough for Canelo...how f**king CJ Ross scored it a draw is beyond comprehension.

Mayweather's style is all wrong for Canelo, and is difficult for most opponents. Can't see any different outcome with the way Canelo is so slow on his feet.

There isn't a planet on which Canelo could ever beat Floyd.

If they fought again, what would the excuse be? They can't use "He wasn't ready" or "This wasn't a loss, it was a learning experience", etc.

I would actually look forward to the rematch happening, if only to hear what kind of hilarious slogan Canelo would say with a mean mug on his face.

"Let's DO this!" had me rolling every time I watched that ****ing trailer.
