Comments Thread For: Robert Garcia: I Really Believe Canelo Could Beat Golovkin

Veteran trainer Robert Garcia feels confident that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) will get the upset when he finally steps in the ring with WBC, WBA, IBO, IBF middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs).

Fight and beat Eubanks first. If you beat Eubanks then nelo can fight ggg.

Canelo has good upper body movement and wicked counters. He will slow G's attack. Triple G has shown that he can fight behind a solid jab.

This fight is not easy for both guys and will be determined more on skill than power

Somehow canelo lacks that same confidence roberto. Or else he(nelo) would have faced him(ggg) when he won the wbc, lineal belts. They(GBP) aren't trying to "marinate" that fight, they just know nelo ain't ready and are waiting for ggg to age. Exactly why I'll be one of few rooting for an upset vs jr

Robert Garcia is just a Mexican taking up for his fellow Mexican. I even recall a video from not very long ago where he proudly supported Canelo and Dela Hoya's decision to let GGG age so that he would be easier to beat. Therefore, **** him and what he thinks.

(For the record, I don't think Canelo is the one "afraid" of Golovkin - Oscar is. He's protecting his cash cow, but I get the feeling that Canelo would be more than willing to fight GGG tomorrow if only Oscar would let him.)

..and stamina. Canelo will be huffing and puffing from the constant pressure by mid rounds. Or not, what the fcuk do I know.. the JCC fight might tell us more about Canelo when he´s not drained.

Exactly. Canelo's not afraid. Oscar is afraid of losing his inflow of cash. All business nothing more.
