Skillwise, I'd favor Lomachenko but he is 5'-6" with a 62" reach, while Linares is 5'8" with a 69" reach and he is a naturally bigger man. It could get interesting, but I'd still take Loma in a UD.

Great fight but I'm confident lomachenko would win, maybe even stop him. Too elusive and accurate.

And this is why i get why some people are hating on Loma, no one is bringing a good argument about why Loma should and could win.
-Linares is far bigger than Lomachenko.
-Lomachenko even when he has good power, he never had really good power as a lightweight (he was a lightweight in 2011/2012), if Loma wants to stop Linares, it should be by cuts (can happen tho).
-Lomachenko has struggled with boxers like Toledo and Selimov and even tho amateur fanboys wouldn't like this, Linares is better than both of them on every aspect besides fighting on the backfoot (Selimov was a great backfoot fighter).
-Lomachenko isn't really good on the backfoot and Linares has the strength and power to make him going backwards.
-Linares losses have been by tough guys that pressured him, Lomachenko isn't a brawler.

Still I'd like to see it.
i agree. linares cuts easy. like in the demarco fight for example.

Yea Lomachenko chops up that tissue paper like face of Linares. Linares may lands some good shots but his defense is not good because he like to land those good shots.

It would be a good first fight for Lomachenko at 135 really.

I don't think it would be a bad fight at all yet I figure Linares really wouldn't be able to put Loma away, the longer the fight goes Loma wouod just pick holes in his defence all night. He'd certainly make him think twice about coming forward though, only Loma thinks through everytthing he sets up regardless.

Fighting the best as the first fight at the weight ? I think it's statements like these that are really testament to how highly we all regard Loma.

Hopefully in 12-18 months we're talking about Crawford vs Loma, I would feel if each continue to carry on winning they'd be in a position to overhaul Andre Ward as he number one in the sport.

I don't think Linares is the best guy in that class at all, I think Easter would eat him alive so would Mikey Garcia. Zlaticanin and Commey would be difficult fights for Linares as well because those guys both bring it and he can't keep someone off him to save his soft face.

Barthelemy would kill him too, but I believe he is moving up.

I have a lot of respect for Lomachenko and think he can give the best at 135 a real challenge, but in no way do I consider Linares the best 135 pounder.
