We've already discussed this. Mayweather has more followers, yet get 10x less interaction than McGregor how do you explain that?

McGregor is trending higher on all social media RIGHT NOW, in terms of most viewed videos on major networks in the U.S, youtube videos, twitter engagement, instagram, facebook, the lot.

the UFC is a much more international sport than boxing, hence his following and therefore his international fame and popularity simply exceeds anything Mayweather has done.

I mean, the proof is in the pudding. Mayweather is obviously buying a load of fake followers etc etc or his followers simply don't care about him as much as McGregor's do - Either way, proves McGregor's popularity is higher.

Plus, Mayweather wasn't that popular anyway. He was a good promoter, but he was never super popular with boxing fans or fans in general.

Once again, we're not talking about who can sell most PPVs, even though McGregor's last 4 evens have done 1.3, 1.5, 1.65 & 1.4 - With his gates also rivalling Mayweather's. And who has he sold these PPVs against? The likes of Jose Aldo, Nate Diaz and Eddie Alvarez - Hardly household names.

We've seen time and time again when Mayweather has to carry a PPV card - like against Berto or Maidana, he has a hard time cracking 1 million.

Mayweather buys his followers? Ok. I say McGregor has made 20 million fake accounts and liked his own photos. We can all make baseless claims.

Mayweather has more followers on every single platform. That's a fact.

He's sold way more PPV. That's a fact.

You say "McGregor is rivalling his gates" when he's not to be honest but even if he was "rivalling" them they're still less.

The highest PPV seller in the history of boxing who holds the #1, #2 and #3 highest selling fights in the history of the sport isn't popular in boxing. Right...

Mayweather turned up to Badou Jack-James Degale press conference the other day and the media turned up in herds. Like Eddie Hearn said "it's as if he's fighting the way people have turned out"

Could just be the people I'm around but nobody who wasn't a boxing fan knew who mayweather was even at the peak of the Pacquaio feud.

Literally everyone knows who Conor is. He's a crossover celebrity like Hogan, Tyson.

People cite his money but a lot of that was he didn't get robbed blind by a promoter like Don King. He collected a lot of the money directly.

Popularity contests are ****/feminine anyway.

McGregor probably does have more fans than Floyd but more people watch and know Floyd.

You say Floyd's opponent are playing a part in the PPV, which of course is true. Just like every other star.

But the numbers are so high because Mayweather is involved.

But look at his numbers vs RG and Berto and Maidana compared to Canelo, Oscar and Pac. It's a big difference. And yeah, Floyd has a part in it too buts mostly because ppl wanna see him finally lose. Unless you're a Floyd fan. And imo, there's not a lot of true Mayweather fans.
