Comments Thread For: Carl Frampton Wants UK Showdown With Lee Selby in Belfast

His full focus is on Leo Santa Cruz these days, but Northern Ireland's Carl Frampton has a big fight in Belfast in the back of his mind. The unbeaten WBA world 126-pound champion hopes another victory over Santa Cruz in their rematch January 28 in Las Vegas leads to a featherweight title unification fight against Wales' Lee Selby later in 2017. Showtime, which will televise the rematch between Frampton (23-1, 14 KOs) and Santa Cruz (32-1-1, 18 KOs) from MGM Grand Garden Arena, also is expected to broadcast Selby's defense of the IBF world featherweight championship from MGM Grand that night.

Its a pity LSC chased the rematch we would have likely seen Selby fight been set up or it would have already happened!
Fingers crossed for another Frampton win.

It's without a doubt a mouth watering contest if they both come though their next fights, but why would Selby go to Belfast? Surely neutral ground such as London or Glasgow would be fairest!

Think Belfast would make the most money as Frampton has a huge following in his country whereas Selby's only really known in boxing circles. Cant see it being in Glasgow altho wood love it 2 b seeing as i live here lol

Both these frauds shouldnt be champion right now ; Carl Fraudton got whooped by Santa Cruz and Lee Selby robbed the American Erik Hunter in the UK but before that Montiel was denied victory on American soil...well at least Frampon has an excuse for getting battered by Santa Cruz being the smaller man but Selby? come on! this guy sucks! hes never dominating his opponents and getting dropped winning 'UD'? -- hes no Andre Ward FOH!
