Kurbanov fought less than a month after his breakthrough victory over hard-nosed Filipino veteran Dennis Laurente and was as fresh as usual. Their fight was part of the Alexander Povetkin-Johann Duhaupas undercard at the Ekaterinburg Expo in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
