Williams shouldn't have approached him looking to shake hands; if you're going to trash talk in the buildup, walk the walk if you get your ass handed to you.
Regardless of what was said or done during the buildup it should be over once they fight."Boxing is a Business" these fighters say it all the time, they have plenty in common with other boxers and plenty of fighters talk that talk and lose, then PAY THEIR RESPECT to the winner.

Look at Dillian Whyte vs Dereck Chisora buildup and their post fight reaction. It's a sport and called being a sportsman at the end of the day!

I don't know what to make of Charlos post fight reaction, JRock came to pay his respect to the winner period.

      whole thing is ridiculous.

it was unnecessary and dissrespectful, but he apologized right afterwards.

jrock talked a lot of **** leading up and charlo just knocked him out. not all fighters can just instantly switch over from killer mode to sensible civilian. he was clearly still pumped up, once he settled down he apologized.

the hypocrisy is the worst part though. nobody knocked porters DAD for refusing to shake broners hand after their fight, he wasnt even fighting.

when kovalev dissrespects and mocks the fighters he defeated people love it, he is a killer and a total "alpha", baddest mother****er in the game and so on...

not once has those same people called him a thug or said he has no class (both of which is true).

You have boxers that go in the ring and headbutt, clinchfuck, low blow etc. and still have fans praising them 'oh no it's not cheating, it's just ringsmarts'. So kinda surprised to see Charlo criticised by so many for poor sportsmanship, especially as the adrenaline is still running and he's still in that fighting mindset.

Not saying it's right, but it's not that serious and it is understandable when he's in the zone and hasn't cooled down yet.

Charlo barely beat Trout. I doubt he can even beat Cotto

People are making a bigger deal about this than it really is. Unsportsmanlike but it happens, no need to dwell on it.

                  Trout actually beat Cotto...lol

                  Charlo would hospitalize Cotto.

Much respect to Charlo for the win but the poor sportsmanship is unacceptable and uncalled for. Be gracious in victory as you would in defeat.

And you have the right to be angry on the moment and express it.

He wanted to make a point to Williams, to show him off, because he wronged him.

                      And he did.

I have absolutely no problem with that.

He paid him his dues later on by saying he will be champion one day.

I guess the people who found him lacking sportsmanship are the ones lacking themselves self-respect more than others.
