We were all just like, that's the last boxing PPV we ever order--On to the UFC permanently.
Also, why would anyone give a **** what your casual ass buddies think lol. Their opinion already doesnt count because they arent even real boxing fans.

Ward has always fought with clinches. That's where he does his best work. His stock might have dropped but he proved a lot of people wrong that said he wouldn't be able to take the shots. Also the fight was close so it's justified that the scoring was a very close 114-113. You can make the justification that either fighter won because it's boxing.

Ward has always been a dirty fighter and terrible to watch in my opinion. He grabs guys and holds them with one hand while he pounds away with the other hand. That's legal in the UFC but in boxing it's called holding and hitting and it's illegal. You can legally hit a guy who is holding you but you can't legally grab and hold a guy and pound away with the other hand. Hatton used to get away with that in England. Ward gets away with it because 90% of his fights took place in Oakland where he lives and can do no wrong. The ref didn't enforce the rules in the Ward vs Kovalev fight. If rules aren't enforced then those rules might as well not exist.

I thought Kovalev deserved to win the fight so I do give him credit.

I think that is exactly what made it difficult for Ward in the early rounds bcuz he couldnt bully around Kovalev on the inside, but as the rounds went on and Kovalev started to slow down, Ward came into rhythm and did alot of clean work, especially to the body

Ward may have stolen a win in this fight but he also lost respect from a lot of fans and experts out there. For me, it's not more about the decision but rather about his performance, I've never seen ward hit with so many accurately jabs and power punches so consistently over a 12-round fight. Even the bumbling, stammering floyd sr. said it straight right after the fight without even flinching that ward is no p4p number one. no way, you could see in his face the disgust and total lack of respect for ward now. It's not just about the win, it's about how he look so ordinary in the most important fight of his life. Kovalev described ward as just a simple fighter not special one as many people believed. Why? Look at how many clean punches ward ate. It doesn't matter what the decision is, you still gotta earn respect at the end of the day.

hes a pretty similar fighter but its as i kept saying before the fight, them super middleweights he beat during the super 6 were nothing special whatsoever. kovalev is levels above them guys and thats why he struggled

If his stock dropped then you don't think very highly of Kovalev.
