noone disputes the fact that ******* influences body weight - it is just completly irrelevant for boxing and about every sport (nice try though with body building anectode) - it is just an artificial and instrumental argument relating the ******* results of Fury to professional sports performance enhancment instead of partying (the punishment is still justified since it is "on the list" - but the hatred towards Fury should not bias the most plausible explanation about the why the test was positive)

Why are people still believing the "medically unfit" excuse?

It's obvious they came up with that because they didn't want to say the fight was off because he failed a drug test. Just like when they said the fight was off because he hurt his ankle earlier this year, when the real reason was he had been banned for failing a drug test.

The first (coming up with health issue as an excuse knowing the test would be positive) is plausible in my opinion. Also against the depression statement speaks (1) the partying itself (probably connected to the recreational drug consumption there) and (2) that exactly till the day of drug testing (22nd I think) Fury was doing his twitter thing every day and all the time - not fitting to depressive episode. From that point or day on there was Twitter silence . . .

It is highly likely that Fury indeed has mental issues, I suspect dysthymia and/or bipolar depression (if the later, ******* usage is very bad, triggering mania etc.). Nevertheless it kind of was used as an excuse in this case as it seems now.

The second remark (ankle fake because of PED test) is wrong. First the test was even long before the FIRST fight and second whether he is guilty is an open question: nothing official has been declared, someone leaked doping agency documents and communications with the Furys to the ***media))) - also a coincidence ? like the immediate testing right after he took ******* which only lasts 1-2 days in the body one could ask - so we have to wait for offical statements

but when just sympathysing with getting rid of Fury for whatever reason people will just say he used PEDs for sure (if it was someone they or the mainstream media liked, they would stay more neutral and wait without declaring guilty - or such an document would not have been leaked in the first case . . . )

And: The PEDs dont seem to do such a great job concidering his physical appearence, maybe the Traveler genetics work different.


Also I dont get the thing often posted "hiding PEDs by *******" - would, if taking both at the same time, the first not test positive because of the second???

Someone, somewhere took that decision and alerted the press. From there the whole thing took off and it all looks daft. Tyson and Hughie fail a drug test, they let Tyson fight anyway, he wins the world title and THEN it becomes an issue?
I am no lawyer and I certainly aint no sportsman but how can a drug test administered months and years ago be relevant now? Surely he needed to be dealt with at the time to prevent the types of headlines that have come from friendly hacking bears or the world’s press short of a hold the front page headline?

Tyson believes that the media have it in for him. I don’t disagree. The problem is that Tyson HAS been on a binge publicly with England fans in France, insulted gay men, women and some of our female sports stars and turned up to support cousin Hosea Burton on Friday night in Manchester after the announcement of his fight being off. All of these are not helping his cause. What is admirable is that he does not hide behind a PR put up defense and says, yes I believe in that, I am sorry if I upset people with this and have had enough of it all so leave me alone. It may be uncomfortable but he has naked honesty in his arsenal; do we really value artifice and lies above it?
