    What Is 30 K After Taxes?

    Alexander Brand was paid 30k before taxes for the Ward (850 k) fight.
    (a) Do you think that is why SOGGY had him in his sights for 2 years?
    (b) Was Brand overpaid?

    Depends on the state tax where the fight was held, federal tax probably won't be applied until he files taxes and his tax rate would depend on yearly earnings and not just one bout..

    The real question is how much did his trainer, cornermen, manager make out of it, plus training expenses and travel expenses...

    Too many variables to give an accurate estimate

      It was reported this was the lowest purse EVER for a maincard fighter in HBO History. Ward should be ashamed. Thats why he was trying to get the fight against Brand for 2 years. Greed.

        too many variables to give you definite number, but if you know all his living situation you can get within ballpark check out the hnrblock tax caluclator.

        however I can tell you after all the expenses he pays, sparring, trainer etc etc, he didnt leave with much less than a 9-5.

          That's a shame...if you're making 850, toss the guy an extra 50 outta respect at least. Like the fight game isn't hard enough. That speaks volumes about ward's character.

            It depends on the state. In California, where the fight was.... He made Jack ****... Lost nearly 9% of that off top!!!
