Should Floyd Mayweather have moved up to middleweight and fought Golovkin?

Would Floyd ever have the courage to fight GGG at 160?

Or would Floyd have demanded Golovkin move down to 154 or lower?

    No, Floyd ducked him completely!

Floyd grew into a big welterweight, naturally bigger than little Roberto Duran who won a middleweight belt. Duran started at bantamweight, Floyd at junior lightweight.

Floyd has only fought in 2 of the original divisions: lightweight and welterweight.

Billy Conn went from 135 to heavyweight! He fought in 5 of the original divisions.

Pacquiao also fought in 5 of the original divisions.

No need to be brave, I'm glad he fought a harmless opponent Berto and then retire

I think moving from 130 to 154 should be plenty.

Exactly. Big coward talk about history Well Duran went to 160 and fought Hagler. Just as fearsome if not more than GGG. What do you expect from a hyped up defensive guy who won fights on throwing 20 punches a round.

Roberto Duran moved from bantamweight and won a title at middleweight without a catch weight.

Duran was smaller than Floyd, shorter in height with a shorter reach.

Floyd isn't ring warrior like Duran. He never took a risk in his whole career.

No, I feel there are always room for one Bernard Hopkins who move up two weight classes and beats his best competition. But I feel Floyd has did enough and his career and frankly at this point it would seem pointless to try to fight middleweight when the actuality is the majority of the people who want to see someone get beat and not to to see how great someone is. Obviously tje Floyd fans want to see Golovkin beat and the Golovkin fans want to see Floyd beat.

Floyd Mayweather I think is 40 now and although eats all the junk food in the world never has really exceeded walking around at 150 pounds and walks around at 5'8. At this point what does he need to prove. Would he go up in atg lists? Sure. But who would likely care. For the fans that hated him in the first place would never be satisfied anyway

No, Floyd has already moved up from his initial debut weight.

Golovkin HAS to move up, there is no threat to him at that weight and he is not displaying any skill other than knockout power and come forwardness.

Mad props to Mayweather, Khan, Brook, Broner, Garcia, Hopkins, Jones jr, Crawford, Paquiao for moving up.
