The network normally keeps around 50% of the revenue to cover marketing expenses, advertising, the broadcast, etc, and obviously the rest is their profit.

So general rule of thumb - take the ppv revenues, half it, and that is what the fighters teams will split.

Its the same principle with all costs associated with the event. If the gate does $15 million for example, they don't keep all of that. They would have paid a site fee to hire/book the venue in the first place.

Obviously they get money for international tv rights, sponsorship etc. But you have to pay the undercard fighters, which will more or less be coming out of the headline fighters purses.

Eddie Hearn does a good breakdown of explaining ppv - the video is on youtube if your interested

To me. 60/40 to Canelo would be fair.

Canelo if he wins ends up pretty much a unified middleweight.

Ggg should accept less money and beat Canelo to be a star like may and pac became a star post delahoya.

Flat fee sounds good if 10 Mil, but what if this fight does great numbers which I think it will because outside of pac vs may, there hasn't been a fight talked about as much recently.

Well first of all I think there should be a split in ppv revenue. I think GGG will get a cut and I think Oscar was just talking out of his ass. With that being said, I think a 60/40 split for canelo is fair and objective. Listen, Canelo is the biggest PPV attraction now and he brings in revenue. I understand GGG has a fan base but not as much as Canelo and that is obvious. GGG flopped big time his 1st go around in ppv and Canelo has been on ppv a lot of times and every last one of them did way better than GGG's ppv.

As far as ppv number's are concerned, I think it cracks a little over a 1 million ppv buys, maybe 1.2 million. Canelo vs Cotto was projected to do way better numbers than it did and they both have big fan bases. I think those numbers are pretty realistic. What do you guys think?
Last night, Canelo had 51,240 spectators -- which is impressive. I don't think that the PPVs will turn to be that impressive, though -- just because the Internet is already impeding largely the PPV business model.

        ... imo, GGG can't get anything better than a 70-30 split -- for a Sep 2017 fight.

I am a big fan of both boxers so no bias. I don't pay much attention to pay for view numbers so I have no idea what those numbers would be but it's a huge money fight that everyone wants too see. I think a 65% to 35% split in Canelo's favorite is fair. Canelo is a bigger star right now. Still GGG is a big part of the reason this fight is so big and without him there is no fight.

Team Golovkin have no reason to rush into accepting Oscar's silly ass terms. Just to put it into perspective, Pacquiao got more for fighting Floyd AFTER getting knocked out than he would have had he accepted the flat fee. This ppv isn't going to be big off one name, it takes two recognizable names to draw hardcore and casual interest. It's the biggest fight for either fighter and that's the basis of negotiations. Team Golovkin want to be compensated for drawing interest, 65/35 is fair and maybe even favorable to Canelo imo...no less than 70/30 though.

This would be the biggest, And canelo would get paid very handsomely for that whoopin. 60/40, or 65/35 for canelo.

That said you know they're gonna mega lowball GGG so he must refuse and the business fan of boxing business aka canelo supporters will call it fair and try to sweep the duck under the rug, like they've been doing.

If Conor McGregor isn't drawing 2m Canelo isn't.

                    $20 million for Canelo
                    $10 millIon for GGG

If promoter right with Chocolatico on the undercard, Jo Jo Diaz in a title fight 1.1 buyrated

Saul Alvarez has x44 success value in PPV.

                      plus 51,250 attendance...

                      4,225,000 vs 97,000 PPV

Let's say 1.5 Million PPV for Alvarez vs Golovkin at $69.99 or more

Trust me... K2 would be ****** not to take 10%
