the way some of y'all are talking, I would think DSG is a straight up bum who hasn't done anything. Was he not the top 140 lber. He beat Amir Khan, Morales (I know he was old), Herrera, Peterson, and Matthyse. A unified champion at 140 lbs and fought good competition. I'm not saying he's the best thing since sliced bread. I definitely would like for him to be more active at 147 and had better comp, but I'm not going to act like he is some Charles Martin caliber fighter here. This is a good fight if it happens and will determine who is the top dawg at the weight class (based on resume).

If Danny fights November, with Thurman fighting shortly thereafter, you could set the stage for Garcia-Thurman for February/March 2017 (likely eyed for Barclays Center, but possibly heading West if the insurance situation isn't settled by then)

Keith Thurmans best wins are from inactive fighters. He stays just a lil busier than they do. If garcia goes straight in to a Thurman fight Thurman would be a HUGE favorite. If Garcia gets a guy at a hire level than Molina wins and looks good. It will be dead even but i bet Thurman will fight his mando & stay active against that Armenyan dude then I think Thurman would remain the favorite. That said DSG shouldve been calling for PacMan. If he beat Pacman in his twilight DSG would a star and would fight whoever he wants next. Itd be awesome if Vargas ko's pac & we got a Vargas vs DSG & thurman had to fight Spencer.

He has not done himself any favors by not being active and being super selective about who he fights.
However when the stakes are high he can be trusted to show up.
If the fight with Thurman materializes it will be a 50/50 fight in my book.
As long as he is comfortable at welterweight i have no doubt he will be able to handle himself against any of the top guns in the division.
