What are Canelo's chances against GGG after witnessing Brook's decent effort last night? Also, is GGG finally dwindling down in his career or has he always been overrated?
Personally I have always thought Canelo has the tools to beat GGG. People always make it a point to mention Canelo's cement feet and GGG's ability to cut the ring off but honestly, when has anyone seen Canelo use foot speed and movement as a defense mechanism? I haven't. If anything he uses his upper body movement and head movement to slip and evade punches and he's rather damn good at doing so.
Also, he has solid fundamentals, interesting feints and punches in bunches. He can work the inside rather well and operates effectively as a counterpuncher. Another thing I noticed was the fact that GGG has showed a liking for uppercuts and seems to have a hard time dealing with such punch, a punch that Canelo knows how to throw rather fcking well. Not to mention GGG's slow ass hand speed lol.
Anyway, back to my original questions... Does anyone think GGG is actually slowing down? He didn't look as crisp and monstrous as he normally does and what makes matters worse is that he was fighting a former Welterweight whom was jumping up 2 divisions to fight him. I'm not saying he's not a powerful puncher, what I am saying is that he didn't look like the GGG we are so accustomed to seeing. He should have dealt with Brook much sooner and in a devastating fashion... But he didn't, I wonder why.
So what was it? Was it GGG finally showing his age or was it the fact that he finally fought a decent opponent last night?
