Canelo's chances against GGG and is GGG dwindling..

What are Canelo's chances against GGG after witnessing Brook's decent effort last night? Also, is GGG finally dwindling down in his career or has he always been overrated?

Personally I have always thought Canelo has the tools to beat GGG. People always make it a point to mention Canelo's cement feet and GGG's ability to cut the ring off but honestly, when has anyone seen Canelo use foot speed and movement as a defense mechanism? I haven't. If anything he uses his upper body movement and head movement to slip and evade punches and he's rather damn good at doing so.

Also, he has solid fundamentals, interesting feints and punches in bunches. He can work the inside rather well and operates effectively as a counterpuncher. Another thing I noticed was the fact that GGG has showed a liking for uppercuts and seems to have a hard time dealing with such punch, a punch that Canelo knows how to throw rather fcking well. Not to mention GGG's slow ass hand speed lol.

Anyway, back to my original questions... Does anyone think GGG is actually slowing down? He didn't look as crisp and monstrous as he normally does and what makes matters worse is that he was fighting a former Welterweight whom was jumping up 2 divisions to fight him. I'm not saying he's not a powerful puncher, what I am saying is that he didn't look like the GGG we are so accustomed to seeing. He should have dealt with Brook much sooner and in a devastating fashion... But he didn't, I wonder why.

So what was it? Was it GGG finally showing his age or was it the fact that he finally fought a decent opponent last night?

Canelo still gets beat down. Brook was able to trouble golovkin because of his footwork. He was pretty slick in there the first couple of rounds and was able to move pretty well, once he started to slow down GGG unloaded on him. Canelo is just a flat footed sitting duck for GGG.

GGG would walk canelo down and force him to fight and canelo would have to exchange with him because hes not capable of using footwork to get away. And im picking GGG all day in a firefight. I think he walks canelo down and breaks his body down and gives him a career beating or stops him. Canelo can have his moments though.

But again... When has Canelo ever used foot work as a defense mechanism? I have yet to see it... So why would he attempt to use it now? His upper body movement and head movement are pretty slick, just look at how he made Trout miss his flurries and made Cotto miss and pay as well. Fighters whom are much faster than GGG.

I still favor Canelo and it has nothing to do with Golovkin's performance against Brook, not even a little bit. Brook didn't possess any kind of threat, nothing to gather from that fight.

People should watch Alvarez vs Cotto is they have any doubt of Alvarez's defensive IQ. Or kitty kat padding Khan. Khan missed wrecklessly

Brook is a good boxer, he made GGG pay for his mistakes before being overpowered as expected.

I don't think it's a matter of GGG slowing down, also the rather modest Wade could land almost at will before being overpowered himself.

IMO the question is , can Canelo stand with GGG and/or push him back?.
If he can stay in the pocket for exchanges without being overpowered and/or outmuscled, then he's got a good chance imo.

The fight goes the distance and GGG gets robbed.

All I saw was an uppercut hungry Golovkin, welcoming the punch with a warm face's embrace.

Newsflash guys: Canelo is much better than Kell Brook in every category. I think some people will be shocked when he and GGG face off.

Thats the point i was trying to make though. GGG would walk him down and canelo wont go anywhere, hes going to be right there in front of him. GGG will break his body down over the course of the fight. Canelo likes to be the bully by outweighing everyone but he cant do that against GGG ,he would be the one getting bullied. Canelo can move his head all he wants, the body will still be there to be hit. And GGG has nasty body shots.

And by the way GGG is more methodical than fast. He doesnt need to be that fast to be effective, he gradually breaks guys down with pressure. Canelo will be easy for him simply because he wont go anywhere.
